Registered 11 years agoIt's got a phenomenal opening cutscene and another couple big chunks of similarly awesome animation. Which they should strip out because the game itself is a total visual and kinetic letdown after seeing them. -

Anyway, I pre-ordered this and got an early access code which I registered on the site and now SWTOR shows on my Origin account as "Not yet Released." Which is true.
Then I cancelled my pre-order.
This isn't because I was trying to skank EA, it's because I realised the laptop I ordered didn't have a disk drive. Then I remembered that this one does does, so I could just register my game and then download it to the other one through Origin.
I guess? That makes sense.
Is the early access code just going to lock me out post launch and ask for my CD key? Suppose it would. I've already ordered the game again. -

I played in the beta a while back, as a smuggler guy. I really enjoyed it for what it was, so i'll be going for launch day. Real pain in the arse they didn't make it Mac compatible. I'm going to have to wheel out the old desktop and run a defrag or whatever. -

Throw WoW, Kotor and Mass Effect into a wood chipper and frolic in the resulting splintery confetti.
Isn't there going to be an open beta? It might not be everyone's cup of space tea but my crude approximation gives you a vague idea. -

Registered 10 years agoNope, they said no to open beta though there is due to be another couple of test periods before the door opens. I've given up on hoping for an invite mind.
Definitely looking forward to this one. So much so in fact that since it was going to be Christmas anyway, I went for the collectors edition. -

Registered 3 years agoIt doesn't look like I'll be getting it as I was adamant that I wouldn't buy the game without having a chance to play in the beta of it. I signed up as a beta tester ages ago, think it was 2008 and to date I haven't received an invite.

I don't know how long I'll be playing it in the long run, but yeah, plan to get it at launch.
I would image they'll do a few more beta weekends before launch, I seem to recall a few EGers got in that one a few weeks ago.
I want to play it more, but I'm generally not overly fond of sinking huge amounts of time into a beta, when I will be playing something when it's out (and everything was obviously wiped). -

Idiots at Bioware. Gee, why don't send out an email requiring (nearly) EVERYONE to change their SW:TOR password to comply with your arbitrary new password regulations*? Thanks for priming (including an official news post!) every person with an account to the phishing attempts to come...
Also, minimum password complexity requirements don't bloody work. Well, maybe this one.

*On the bright side, that probably means they only store hashes. Good on you. -

Registered 10 years agoThe beta invites that have appeared tonight are for the upcoming stress test. Everyone that signed up for testing consideration (prior to today's date) is getting them and even if you've tested previously, you're in. -
