I meant to ask about the Indy games.

Why is Lego Indy 1 11.99, and the more recent sequel 8.99? Are they pricing them based on quality?

Obviously! It looks like Rayman Origins is going to be 800 points/238.54+VAT tomorrow along with the other platformer deals, incidentally.

Don't screw me over on Mark of the Ninja and/or Hell Yeah pricing, Microsoft! Half price. All regions. Make it so!

The Indy games are great. Personally, I think the original is much much better than the sequel (not that the sequel is crap), so the price difference doesn't surprise me. The original features Raiders, Temple & Crusade. The sequel features mainly Kingdom, with smaller levels covering the first three movies.

I haven't played Indy 1 since my PS2 bricked a couple of years back, but I recall it being larger than Indy 2, not having so many vehicle levels like the sequel does, and more enjoyable because it's based on the more popular movies.

I can't wait to start collecting LEGO studs again :D

Heh, that's a decent exchange rate!

As one of those philistine, heathen people who hasn't got Fez, I'm also curious to see if it'll be an 800 -> 600 reduction or an 800 ->400 one. Not that I can really turn my nose up at either. Perhaps it'll even be 560, just so they can get every last drop.

Thanks also, Spong, for your recap of the LEGO Indy games. I'm sorely tempted by the first one, now.

Rayman Origins for 800pts would be an absolute steal. I'd be very surprised if that happened.

Rayman for 800 would be instabuy.

    Indeed.

Given that is is Games on Demand though, here in the UK it'll probably be 11.99, or 1440 points I guess. If we're really lucky it might be 8.99 or 1080 points - pretty close to the dream!

Do get Fez - it's well worth 800, so whatever the discount is it'll still be an absolute steal. :)

Stupid question I should know the answer to but...can you copy XBLA games to a USB memory stick and run them from there?

I'm nearly running out of storage on my 60gb HDD and don't want to buy another drive.

Yeah, just another storage device. Copied a few over when I got a new box, still worked. The license should still be on the console I imagine so offline should work as well.

Speaking of license transfer, what a load of shit. Tried it recently, error screen but it then said I can't do it for another 4 months. I wouldn't have minded if it worked as advertised first time you cocks.

Yes but with the caveat that the xbox formats them to some bespoke file system, making them unusable with a laptop and its quite volatile, failing every now and again and requiring a reformat (although that may be down to the transcend ones I had).

The moral is, yes you can, but keep your saves on the hdd.

    Or the cloud.

Also, don't forget you can use 32gb for storage now instead of the measly 16 you could before.

I still wish they'd just unlock it though, but if they did that, then they wouldn't be able to sell overpriced hard drives.

Oooh, corrupting sticks sounds a bit shit. Considering I only have one.

I'd forgotten about the cloud option. How much storage is that?

Essentially I could just delete stuff that I no longer play but I worry that they'll remove it from the store at some point and I may want to play it again in the future (Outrun, for instance, or can you still obtain that if you bought it?). Although I never really play games I've played before, as I just don't get time. Very rarely anyway.

the cloud is only 500MB or so, so only really suitable for save games.

If you've bought it, you can always re-download it through your 'bought items' list, so there isn't anything to worry about from that side.

Is that even if they delete it like Outrun? If so, I'm not going to worry and just ditch loads of stuff.

For those who bought either Lego Indiana Jones 2 or Lego Batman: How much did you pay? The pricing seems to be all over the place to be honest. I've paid 320 MSP here in Switzerland, it would have been 5 Swiss francs in real money. What's funny is that on our dashboard there's no mention of the daily deals and only a banner advertising the XBLA Xmas deals.

I can't find any mention of the daily deals on my dashboard in the UK. I just have to search for the games I'm interested in. Not even in the 'Sales' app. Poor promotion of this thus far.

    /shakes fist!

Each of those titles is 1080 MS Points in the UK, and I think 800 points each in the US.

    Jammy sod!

Here in Holland there a big Christmas tile on the home page. Enter that and you get to the (daily) deals. Is this not there on the UK dash?

It seems that brainbird got the best deals. Here the Lego games are 9.99 / 14.99 euros, which is a one-to-one conversion of the dollar prices...

320 MSP is only for the two Lego games I mentioned though. The others are more expensive.

Just got an email from Microsoft with 160 free MSP to "put towards Skyrim's Dragonborn DLC". Was targeted at my US account but I redeemed it against my UK account no probs. And then didn't buy Dragonborn. I'm such a rebel. :D

Nope, nothing. The big tile on my home page is 'Join XBOX Live now for just 3.33 a month'. Brilliant.

Probably. They've obviously got to peddle the AMAZING live deal they're offering at the moment over a really decent sale.

FEZ is at 400 points now. Not buying it at that price is subhuman behaviour.

Mark of the Ninja is 600. Downloading now. It did say Rayman Origins is on sale today but its showing as 19.99 for me. Unless that is the sale price?!

Okay, I've grabbed Fez. I'm doing this blind, I haven't demoed it, I;m going purely on all your recommendations. If it turns out that I really hate it, I shall expect a full refund from everybody who said it should be bought.

Considering Mark of the Ninja as well. At 600 points is it demo first or just buy it?

I've got 4730 points left to spend, with another 2100 arriving on chrimbo day. How many do you reckon I'll need for the complete Walking Dead?
