As for longevity, spoiler;
I did the campaign on Heroic in one go. After the credits the in game times said I'd been playing campaign for 9h56m. To the best of my knowledge it took me 2 6 hours sessions to do Reach.
I didn't rush, took my time having a nosey around. Found 4 terminals. (I'm not sure how many there are. 6 or 8 is my guess).
I got stuck on 1 section (the end) for a good 30 mins. So the campaign should last about 9 to 12 hours depending on how good you are.
BTW, I cannot stress enough, if you DO follow the Halo story, you will LOVE this. I cannot wait to see where 343i go with parts 5 & 6, and the rest of the books too.
