I thought Talisman at first although I don't remember lifting flaps and finding other planes to play on. Although I've just looked it up on that marvellous wikpedia and I suppose that it still could be Talisman but with the expansion sets. I don't remember them, but I think by the time they came out I was in pubs and had lost interest in that stuff.
