Ogyen Trinley Dorje, one of two claimants to the title of 17th Karmapa of Tibetan Buddhism, has said that he plays videogames in order to "decompress" and get rid of negative thoughts and feelings.
"We all have emotions whether we're Buddhist practitioners or not, all of us have emotions, happy emotions, sad emotions, displeased emotions and we need to figure out a way to deal with them when they arise."
For Dorje, the way to do this is to play videogames. He doesn't say which ones, but following expert analysis we believe he plays a lot of Horde mode in Gears of War 2. It's also possible that he's one of those chaps who overloads the back line using FIFA 09's Custom Tactics page and then hoofs it to Ronaldo over and over again.
"The aggression that comes out in the videogame satiates whatever desire I might have to express that feeling," said Dorje (gamertag: Karmageddon). "For me, that's very skilful because when I do that I don't have to go and hit anyone over the head."
