THQ unveils Legends of Wrestlemania News

THQ has torn the Spandex pants off a fresh WWE game only for PS3 and Xbox 360.
It's called Legends of Wrestlemania and will launch alongside the annual sporting entertainment event in March 2009.
The best bit is that it lets you play as all the old heroes from the golden era of wrestling, and so will appeal to people like us who, would you believe, don't actually watch wrestling any more.
Presumably we can expect faces like Hulk Hogan, then, as well as Macho Man Randy Savage, Bret The Hitman Hart, Ultimate Warrior, Sergeant Slaughter, Shawn Michaels, The Rock, and more. We'll be disappointed if Ultimate Warrior isn't in it, THQ - we had a plastic figure of him that you wound up to unleash his Texas Tornado.
Presumably developer Yuke's of SmackDown Vs. Raw fame will be making the game, which should provide a stop-gap between the flagship wrestling series releases.
THQ also spilled the beans on a release date for its Ultimate Fighting Championship game, which should be splatting blood on the canvas next spring.

Ultimate Warrior figures did the Gorilla Press and a weird jumping move, Texas Tornado did the winding arm move, forget what it was called though, some people. ;)

I remember Ric Flair winning the Royal Rumble and being quite angry about it all. I also had a wrestling sticker book with those silver shinies in and whatnot.
Yuke's make SmackDown surely? Quite true! Sorry. Jakks take care of the wrestling brand and toys and stuff. Sorry about that, managed to tie my brain in a knot. FYI, THQ has not announced a developer, but Yuke's is a good bet. |

Is Legends of Wrestlemania just going to be Smackdown with a different roster? That would be an ultimate low for THQ if they're actually releasing two seperate versions of the same game now, but I do agree with Eurogamer to an extent. I haven't watched the WWE in years, I still enjoy playing the games but I don't recognise 90% of the roster anymore. Having a game with all of the older guys would be pretty awesome.

dont watch that WWE sports entertainment rubbish. favourite wrestlers are Kenta Kobashi, Kawada, Kenta, Jushin Liger, Kaz Sakuraba, Josh Barnett.
