Tabula Rasa "out this year"

Lord British is adamant.

Destination Games' upcoming NCsoft-published MMORPG, Tabula Rasa, is on track for release during 2007 according to founder and developer Richard Garriott.

Charting the game's path through the next few months, Garriott told VE3D that it's currently with "friends and family", will hit closed beta "within a month or so" and will enter open beta this summer. "So we're in that final push to launch at this stage. Tabula Rasa will come out this year," he emphasised.

"We don't have a public specific date yet, but definitely the light is at the end of the tunnel. We're tying up the loose ends and polishing it up so we can get it out the door."

Tabula Rasa is set in the distant future and frames humanity's last stand against The Bane. Unlike a lot of MMOs, it's meant to play out more like a shoot-'em-up.

Meh ... Another " Rushed " MMO release. I unfortunately bought Vanguard and that has so many ridiculous bugs and performance issues that it in effect still feels very much beta. I fear this may well share the same fate, personally I won't in future purchase an MMO until at least 3 - 4 months after release, or even better wait 6 months for the developers to make the game playable.

err.. "rushed"? ncsoft always strive for a high quality to their releases. Its been in development for ages, been through a number of graphical changes. It was due to be released last year, but was put off for further development. Remember, this isn't a "we have to release it because we have run out of funding" kinda deal ala Vanguard :)

I for one am glad they are starting to at least suggest possible release dates, as ive been following this for what seems like forever :)
