Square Enix reveals new games
Pre-party conference spills beans.
Square Enix has been spilling the beans ahead of its weekend party in Japan by announcing two new games.
The first of these is Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeons for Wii. It's a celebration of 10 years in the turn-based and dungeon-crawling series and sees you attempt to recover a villager's missing memories, which have been taken by a mysterious force.
Little else is known about it, but apparently it will look and feel similar to the upcoming DS game, Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales.
Last Remnant was the second juicy game on show. This is a PS3 and Xbox 360 title that looks incredibly impressive and sports one of the most innovative and novel battle systems to date, according to our hairy reporter. It's being touted as the next Final Fantasy-style hit, so there's a lot riding on it.
It's due to launch simultaneously in Japan and the US, but is unconfirmed for Europe so far. As you'd expect.
The Square Enix Party is taking place this weekend in Japan and will give us a look up the company's sleeve to see what's in store for the future.
We'll be bringing you everything that happens, so gaffer-tape yourself to your seats.

On the PS3 (and XBox 360 for that matter) it's down to the distributor as to whether a games is region locked or not.

What on the PS3 isn't region free so far?

In fact a specific example ... Enchanted Arms. Publisher for both versions - Ubi-soft. 360 US version, region protected. PS3 US version, region free.

On the PS3 according to SONY, EVERY game has to be region free, (so far it is, yes even the japanese/asian titles and EA games)
Think of it as an equivilent to every 360 game having achievements

and this from the artist's blog:
"Just for the record, I don't have any sort of inside information here that nobody else has. FF13 has not been announced for the 360. Sony has only announced that the game is "not exclusive to the PS3". That could mean anything. I'm just playing with it."
I really hope so!

If I recall they only said the XIII project isnt PS3 exclusive, meaning that other XIII spin-offs are not exclusive.
