PixelJunk Eden Encore out next month News

PlayStation 3 News by Tom Bramwell

23 March, 2009

PixelJunk Eden Encore will be released next month, Q-Games boss Dylan Cuthbert has said on the PlayStation Blog.

"Eden Encore will be coming out very soon in April," Cuthbert wrote. "Get ready for zero gravity, mirror worlds, all new music from Baiyon, and we've added something extra special at the end which is a Big Secret and is a present to all the fans.

"On top of all this, we're flying along with the next new PixelJunk title (we're calling it #4 for now) and even experimenting with future PixelJunk ideas too."

The last Encore update, for PixelJunk Monsters, introduced 15 new levels, including nods to old arcade games, along with a variety of gameplay tweaks. Q-Games hasn't said anything about Eden Encore pricing, but Monsters Encore went for USD 5.99 when it launched.

Good stuff! Loved Eden (tho it was a bit too difficult!), so more gameplay is highly appreciated. Like the sound of zero gravity and mirror worlds. :)

Isn't mirror worlds a cheap way of recycling the earlier levels? Wil still buy though - thought it was excellent (in a controller throwing kind of way)

So is it an add on to Eden but with some tweaks made?

I was really disappointed with Eden. They created this fantastic world to explore and then lumped a time limit restriction that made the game unnecessarily challenging. It was a frustrating experience because it felt like I was being rushed through the experience. Shame. Was very promising. Having said that I'm keen to see #4.

I didn't like Eden at all. I though it got very very repetitive and the time limit, I felt, made me rush through the game. I didn't bother finishing it after. I will not be getting this.
