New Twilight Princess details

Ganon's back, Zelda fans.

Yoshiyuki Oyama, character designer on forthcoming GameCube title Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, has revealed that arch nemesis Ganon is about to make a comeback.

In an interview with Nintendo Power magazine, Oyama said: "No discussion of Twilight Princess' enemies can end without mentioning Ganon.

"I know that everyone's wondering what's going on with Link's old nemesis. All I can say now is, we're preparing more than you could possibly ever, ever, expect..."

But although that was all he was prepared to say directly on the subject, Oyama did hint that Ganon will be harder to defeat than ever - as will his cohorts. Oyama reckons the enemies in previous games have been far to easy to do over, and Twilight Princess will offer much more of a challenge.

"How will my monsters ensure that Twilight Princess is the greatest Zelda game ever? Wait and see," Oyama said. "You won't be disappointed."

Nintendo's still keeping shtum over when we'll get our hands on Twilight Princess - but we'll keep you posted.

I'm getting really excited about this, every time i forget about TP some little snippet is released and i'm turned into a rabid fanboi.
Can't wait, i just hope they do something cool with the combat apart from just make it harder or make you fight on stupid ledges etc. Nah, ninty wouldn't do that.

I don't care how hard he is, he'll still cry when he gets the master sword as a suppository!

I hope this is to the same standard as the SNES version. That rocked.

I get the horrible feeling that it's going to be Christmas before we see this one.

So the new details are... "it's going to be something but we can't tell you what, except it'll be harder than before".

Nintendo really need to stop saying anything unless it's worth saying. I'm dying to play this, but every pointless empty statement they make just annoys me.

So Gannondorf isn't a 'reincarnation' of Gannon then?

I thought they were the same anyway.
TBH it doesn't make a difference they're both final bosses and that's all it comes down to.
I'd wish game developers would stop focusing on making things harder, a game doesn't have to be hard to be good.

I love Zelda as much as the next person, but I wish Ninty would create some new bad guys for the series.

This'll be [at least], what, the sixth Zelda game to feature Ganon as the enemy?

    From zelda.com

    Ganon
Also known as the King of Evil, Ganon is the epitome of anger, hate and envy. Ganon's life began as a human named Ganondorf, but his heart was so vile that eventually he could no longer hide the ugliness which he held inside.

I always preferred Ganondorf over Ganon personally. He makes for much better fights.

Also, as happy as I am about this, I can't help but feel that a 3D fight with Vaati would have rocked.

Man, I want to be the King of Evil.

I'd kick that pussy Link right in the kisser, and steal his princess.

Sadly changing my name from Simon to Sim, or Si, wouldn't have quite the same effect :(

The game needs people chanting "Ga-non-dorf, Ga-non-dorf" like in Super Smash Brothers Melee :D

i remember a time when zelda games were hard (at least i thought so at the time)
i've yet to play WW but heard that its rediculously easy

seems a recurrent theme on the gamecube: difficulty in getting the difficulty right

Don't get your hopes up. My money's still on early-mid June, but failing that it's November all the way.

You know, i actually want them to release this for the rev instead. As apart from the occasion blast i have on the metriod primes and pikmin games i am so over the cube. I loved that little console, its a great machine, but imagining playing Zelda: TW in november (seems like the best estimate) when i will have had a 360 for a nearly a year may make the experience feel abit old school.

Yet, i'll still lap it up because i'm such a sucker for zelda (majora mask and tingle excluded).

Is when I'll be playing it here in Japan. As usual Europe will have to wait until after X-Mas...
