New Burning Crusade info

Say hello to Hellfire Citadel.

Blizzard has revealed new details of the Hellfire Citadel, an instance in forthcoming World of Warcraft expansion The Burning Crusade.

Located in the Outlands zone, the citadel served as the Horde's base during the First and Second Wars, after which it remained abandoned - until recently.

Bands of fel orcs have now moved in, and they're growing in number. It's not known who they're working for, though word is it isn't the Burning Legion.

Perhaps most worryingly, "thunderous, savage cries" are echoing from deep beneath the citadel. Are these outbursts somehow linked to the fel orcs and their increasing numbers? Who knows... Well, Blizzard, obviously, but they're not telling.

Nor will they reveal the release date for The Burning Crusade, unfortunately - but we'll keep you posted.

I really hope they add more solo-content to the game, I don't have time for these big raids :(

yes they are Pirotic - word is that they are making Strat and Scholo into 5-man and UBRS into a 10 man.. with lovely epics as rewards.

also epics will be coiming as quest rewards for the Burning Crusade stuff..

lovely lovely, as like you, i cannot maintain my presence in my guilds raids upto 4 times a week... its really hard having a life isn't it :)

How are the Bone Monkeys getting on Piro?

    "YAWN."

    whatever.

Well Pirotic, they're putting in a fair bit, so more solo quests seems like a reasonable question to ask...

However, their new-found angle on endless grinding has me concerned... not only are the only people who'll be in on this beta have demonstrated they have nothing even remotely resembling a life, but the AQ grinding and now the Cenarion epics quests (which involve - guess what? MORE GRINDING!) have me very worried about the direction Blizzard are moving with end-game content.

The new dungeon sounds sublime, there will also be a new one apparantly up in Winterspring. You can see the instance entry but it is currently barred... that looks very interesting. Here's hoping for more variety in the expansions content than I've seen in-game recently...

With another ten levels with the cap raised to 70, I'm pretty sure that would have to bring with it a lot of solo and small group action. The instances are a nice addition as they help justify the cost of the expansion and also give the hardcore guilds something to get their teeth into.

Personally, I'm just looking forward to leveling up to 70 and then soloing Molten Core. ;-)

yes kami - and they are also opening up another 10/15 man instance in Deadwind Pass (the little bit between Duskwood and SoS) u can see the castle that the instance is in already there. It will be a lvl 70 instance tho :)

I'm of the same opinion, would like to see more solo and some party based content, but I do not like at all these endless grinds. The Cenarion token grind for an epic is just crazy. 600 + elites to be killed, 100 + gold in material gathering and then the tactical tokens to earn as well.

Was in a guild raid last night helping to grind Cenarion tokens. As long as I view it as hanging out with friends and banging on lvl 62 elites, it's fine. But yeah, every goal at this point in the game takes absolutely forever to achieve. I just can't commit to 4+ hours each and every night. There's a danger of it becoming a second job rather than a diversion.

Seen that one RinoaMW, sounds like fun. I do like a good instance (readas GOOD INSTANCE! GOOD INSTANCE! Not like the crappyness of Blackrock Depths! FFS, shoot the people who designed that one! PLEASE! And while we're at it, shoot the people who dreamed up LBRS as well - takes forever to 5-man that place, and to do Warlord's Command, you HAVE to 5-man it!).

But I just wish they'd stop with this grinding/collecting shit. I've not got ten hours a day to put into the damn game (though insomnia bouts do kinda give you those extra few hours) and I'm not going to spend half my in-game time stuck in what I think is, so far, the worst instance in the game - love the open areas of AQ but it's bosses so far border on the absurd...

edit: I don't think we'll ever be soloing Molten Core... but I do look forward to ten-manning it...

Ya know i read all the comments here and i haven't got the first idea what anyone is talking about :) Apart for it being WoW related and most of the words being in english natch. It just got me thinking about how n00bs looking into MMORPGs forums and discussions see nothing but nigh-on impenetrable game-speak and terminology. Then again i could bang on about Hami raids, enhs slotting, salvage refining, ED, base raids, Grandville, and the finers points of scrankers, blappers and offenders and from your point of view i'm a wibbling fruitcake :) Aint language great!

On a side issue does anyone know if there will be a EU trial of WoW cos i'd like to see what all the fuss is about :)
