Try out TOCA Race Driver 3

In a new single-player demo.

Codemasters has released a new demo for TOCA Race Driver 3 - and it's now available for download via Eurofiles.

The demo lets you get behind the wheel of an AMG Mercedes C-Klasse, a Holden Commodore VZ and a K500 Pro Baja Duneracer, and there are three circuits to try out - Hockenheim, Phillip Island and an International Dirt Speedway.

Course, the finished game features loads more cars and tracks, plus more than 120 championships spanning 35 different motorsport disciplines. You can expect an online multiplayer mode, too.

TOCA Race Driver 3 is out on PC, PS2 and Xbox on February 24th.

Been playing TRD 2 recently. I like it a lot, but did anyone else get stuck at a championship around 85% in? Gotta finish in the top two, and all the cars are either Ford GTs or some cockpit-on-a-tea-tray GT racer.

You're in the tea-tray, and on 3 of the 5 courses there are long straights where you run out of acceleration about half-way in to. All the other cars overtake you. It's already quite hard to drive that car, but now you have to do perfect laps in order to just get 3rd! Stopped playing it now, but did anyone else get that?

This is a solid demo - far, far superior to that piece of tosh Honda demo released a month ago. Game feels upgraded from 2 somewhat. Physics a bit better. Graphics and sound slightly better. Car damage is excellent - much improved.

got this demo the other day, man am i impressed. the graphics aren't as spectacular as i expected from the screenshots (the cars are nice but the backgrounds are a bit bland) but the handling and the feel is really spot on.

unfortunately the demo is way too easy, especially if you start in pole position. by the end of 3 laps i'm about 30 seconds ahead of the pack.

but i've been watching some videos on 3dgamers and it seems a lot more fair (doesn't feel like the player's car is faster than the rest). the videos are really impressive, here's the link.

If you get the directx issue when installing - try changing the compatibiltiy mode of the autorun.exe (or the install executable) to windows 2000. There is a known bug to some of the installation software out at the moment . I think windows update also fixes this issue.

Sounds good. The Honda demo was so incredibly bad, I could hardly believe it. I wonder what made them release it, it almost put me off Toca 3 for good. Going to try this one now.

hehe this is the worst racinggame ever, both demos was misery. Even when played on 1080p with pixelperfect res.

The poster who said the AI was too easy obviously didn't realise you could crank the AI up in game.. there is a percentage slider and default is low-medium.
