Wii to get Lightsaber game?
LucasArts sounds keen.
LucasArts has added fuel to the rumour that a Star Wars game which lets you use the Wii remote as a lightsaber is currently in development, telling Gamasutra.com: "We're looking into it."
Having seen the first real demonstrations of what you can do with the motion-sensing stick of wonder and hearing the news that the Wii wand has an in-built speaker, the most obvious of questions was posed directly to LucasArts staff during a tech demo on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
Gamasutra reports that it was met with "knowing smiles" from the employees present, but the publisher wouldn't be pinned down to a definitive reply at this stage.
LucasArts has yet to confirm any titles in development for the Wii, but we all know they'd be stupid to miss this opportunity and if the smiles are anything to go by, we'd expect an announcement to be made soon. Keep your fingers crossed!

Imagine tooling round the hives of scum and villainy slicing and dicing ne'er do wells.
Imagine gesturing with the wii-moe to do a force push or a "these are not the droids you are looking for" hand swish.
Imagine twisting the nunchuck to do a throat crush or cast lightning.
Imagine doing that to real players.
Even if the graphics were only Gamecube quality, the sense of combat immersion would carry it. It doesn't even have to scale to huge galactic ranges, just set it in one perpertual battlefield that rages 24hours a day...
And no ratings around hammering the A button, the first combat game to measure true skill and co-ordination (or lack thereof).
Oh Lucasarts please! I want to slice other people with my saber while making crptic remarks.
Or, at least, just don't make it suck
*goes off to calm down*
