Boll doing BloodRayne sequel

That's what he says anyway.

Fresh from luring journalists to his film set so he can beat them up, German director Uwe Boll has reportedly confirmed that he's up to direct a sequel to BloodRayne - last year's critically savaged adaptation of Terminal Reality's action game of the same name.

1UP says that the director - also a veteran of Alone in the Dark and House of the Dead adaptations, and currently at work on a film about Running With Scissors' Postal game series - confirmed the news via email earlier this week.

There's no word on any details yet, or whether original cast members Kristanna Loken, Michelle Rodriguez, Ben Kingsley or Michael Madsen are likely to reprise their roles, but since the last three died in the first film and Kristanna already had inexplicable plot-breaking sex against a prison cell, it's possible he'll mix it up with some new blood.

He won a boxing match you know.

    Against some wheezing hacks.

So he is, obviously, a good director.

    Budget $25 Million

chance of a sequel = nil

unless of course some more billionaires want to write off some money against tax then we can expect to see bloodrayne 2 next year

That said, if the promotour for bloodrayne 2 involves wrestling with kristanna loken I'm all for the sequel...I'll even buy the dvd...

I hereby declare I am officially in love with that woman...
  • HappyTreeFriend #7 5 years ago

    @ AcidSnake -

/walks over to Ms Loken, sees breast size increase

    "I like your gun"...
  • gaselite #8 5 years ago

The thing is, Boll has pretty much earned the right to do whatever the fuck he wants since he can beat the shit out of all of his critics. This is both an awesome and terrible thing at the same time.
  • AcidSnake #9 5 years ago

I love her for who she is, not because she can increase breast size at will
Or hack into servers with her voice...
Or transform her arm in a flamethrower...

Still...the blueprint for an ideal woman...
    :)

You see?! All you people going on about what a top bloke he was for beating up those paraplegics (at least I assume that's what they were from watching the videos). Now he feels like he's got free reign to make more films!

    HAPPY NOW???

  • lambtron #16 5 years ago

I don't care whether I don't have to watch them or not! Their very existence is a crime against humanity!
  • glaeken #17 5 years ago

Er spoilers!! For god sake some of us have not seen the first film!!
  • Kami #18 5 years ago

    Insert obligatory Boll joke here.

Sorry Stickman. You only win the internet when you can defeat the mighty Boll in mano a mano combat.

    Damn!

I shall have to settle for my "I h8 Uwe" T-shirt. (It's really just marker pen on my work shirt. I'm getting funny looks...)

Does the T-shirt have a backprint that says 'But I do admire his tax dodge scam' ? Get it screen printed anyway - I smell an eBay killing!

BloodRayne is one of the very few films that doesn't have a single flaw. Seeing BloodRayne for the first time was the most amazing movie experience of my life. There's scenes that stay with you when the movie is over, and you don't forget them. Everyone makes the mistake of calling this film a movie about crime. Its really a movie about family. The dialogue is just unbelievable. I've seen the movie at least 30, 40 times, and I'm still amazed at how perfect it is. The music, the acting, everything. People think that Citizen Kane is the greatest movie ever made...well, there's no way that ANYONE can think that Citizen Kane is more moving, and has a better storyline than BloodRayne. It's my opinion that this is the greatest movie ever made, and I doubt that anyone can watch this movie, and think I'm crazy.
  • Sl1pstream #29 5 years ago

@Freek: Of course not, they killed off half the cast in the first movie. Why the hell would they make a sequel without both Book and Wash?
  • chupachups #30 5 years ago

    "BloodRayne
    Budget $25 Million
    Gross $3,591,980
    chance of a sequel = nil "

You'd think that, but there were a lot of theories floating about that the film was really being done as a tax dodge, because it received most of its funding from a German government scheme.

That would certainly be the only reasonable explanation for why people carry on giving Uwe money to make films.
  • Cyclone #31 5 years ago

Whatever you say about Uwe Boll, his films did let us see the good looking one who plays Lois Lane in Smallville topless. Or so someone was told me. Ahem.
  • Muddtallica #32 5 years ago

Leaving aside all the Boll stuff for a moment, I'd say the other most prescient question is: since when did "BloodRayne" warrant even one film, let alone two? Were the games (I'm assuming there was more than one, I don't even know) popular, or well reviewed? Is the series even still ongoing? Why on earth would anyone choose this obscure, middling series to make a film out of?

Oh, wait, it's Boll. Nuff said.
  • Hog-lumps #33 5 years ago

I shall have to settle for my "I h8 Uwe" T-shirt.

Heh, I wouldn't wear that T-shirt when visiting Bristol if I were you - you'd probably get battered by students...........

(Uwe = University of West of England! :p )
  • AcidSnake #34 5 years ago

There were 2 bloodrayne games, and the first one was entertaining enough...

Never seen the second one...even in retail...
  • Stickman #35 5 years ago

As a concession to the tax-dodging population of Bristol, I'll change my t-shirt if someone can provide a link to pictures of that bird from Smallville with her waps out.

    Can't say fairer than that.
  • mechamonkey #36 5 years ago

    Make him stop. Seriously
  • eviltobz #37 5 years ago

@Sl1pstream & Freek & any other firefly flans.

that is a quote totally out of context from whedonesque.com where his royal jossness was squashing a rumour that he'd implied that a sequel was in the pipeline. he quite categorically did not say no sequel ever, just that nothing's lined up. he's actually been quite vocal about still having stories to tell in the verse. there's already a second comic run in production and the hope of a film sequel isn't dead, just resting.

    /crosses fingers
  • Razorus #38 5 years ago

I just want to know WHY THE HELL these studios and producers fund his films? His last 10 or so movies have been utter garbage, he keeps losing everyone's money, he's ruining his own reputation, everybody hates him and he's ruining several other franchises too! So now we got BloodRayne 2 in the works, Postal coming soon, he also has the rights to Far Cry and Fear Effect. This guy is single-handedly ruining game/movie adaptions. Even Paul Anderson is better than him!
And as for anyone who thinks his movies are good; I'm a student of film myself and I know what I'm talking about. He really is a bad filmmaker. Someone needs to stop the "Raging Boll."
