New Ratchet & Clank gets US release date
Plus: pre-order special offers detailed.
Sony has announced a release date for the latest instalment in the Ratchet & Clank series.
Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time will be released in the US on 27th October. There are various special offers available for those who pre-order, depending on the shop you pick - Gamestop customers will get bonus level Insomniac Moon, for example, while Best Buy shoppers get an extra weapon skin, more hit points and the new Cryo Mine Glove.
Those who purchase A Crack in Time via Amazon will start the game with two new power-ups plus 5000 bolts already in their account. GameCrazy customers will also get 5000 bolts, along with a skin for Ratchet's ship and their Home character.
Which is all very exciting, but will any similar deals be offered in Europe? Sony has yet to comment. In the meantime, there's so much Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time info on the gamepage it might be sick.

2 weeks later.... MW2.
Way to butcher sales of your game Sony, should have released in Septemeber... before ODST, would have been perfect.

I can't see many MW2 fans thinking 'I want the cartoony action platformer but I need to save cash for the violent military shooter. Oh the dilemma!'
Different tastes though I guess...

Considering I'm getting everything on that list, with R&C at the top, I think there are a number of people with varied tastes. You are right, though, that despite the litany of other game releases, R&C will find it's own audience. Besides, other than Quest for Booty, every R&C releases in the same release window, and was always successful, even in better gaming Q4s. A Crack in Time will do just fine.
