New GTAIV DLC gets release date

Ballad of Gay Tony here for Halloween.

Rockstar has announced the next batch of downloadable content for Grand Theft Auto IV will be available via Xbox Live on 29th October.

The Ballad of Gay Tony will see you playing as Luis Lopez, who works for nightclub boss Tony "Gay Tony" Prince. As previously announced it will cost 1600 Microsoft Points (GBP 13.60 / EUR 19.20).

Or you could pick up Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City, a disc release featuring both DLC episodes released so far. It's also out on the 29th and will cost $39.99 over in the States. We're checking with Rockstar for a European price.

Oooh nice a disc version. I'll go for that and free up some space on my 20gb as well. Bloody MS HDD pricing.....

I would have thought the disc version 'installs' the game to your hard drive anyway, no?

It's standalone, according to a previous report.

Wish MS would sort out the hdd pricing. I would upgrade in an instant if it wasn't a complete rip off. Juggling space witha 20 gb drive is no fun at all :(

    @SBfistfun,

Argos have it for £68. I dunno if you feel that is still too expensive, but it is comprable to a boxed 120gb 2.5" drive you'd buy at retail (yes, I know OEM's online can be found much cheaper ;))

    I just had a look and there's a used 120gb 360 drive at Play via Play'n'Trade for £45

I bought a 500Gb 2.5" external drive from *PC World* of all places for £79.99 the other day...

thanks rotmm spose thats not too bad actually (well compared to what they have been priced at!).

It doesnt make sense to me. If MS want us buying digital content, surely they realise the pricing and size of the HDD's are going to put people off

Perfect timing now there's a Bioshock 2 sized hole at that time of the year thanks to it being putting back so all those cooks can spoil the broth.

I'm in the same boat in regards to running out of room on my meagre 20GB HDD and find the price of a 120GB takes the piss somewhat.

I suspect (though it's just as likely that I'm wrong) MS will be releasing a new 360 SKU with a 250GB HD sometime around August/Sept and that the 120GB model will be phased out. I also suspect that the RRP for the 120GB standalone HD will go down to £50.

I have no basis for that suspicion other than the fact that is about when they'll be launching the Game Marketplace and will want people to spend money on it.

So, unless you are desperate for a HD now, it may be worth holding off.

Also running out of space on the 20GB.

Anyone familiar with the 360 data transfer cable and if you can transfer from 20 to 60gb?

  • mkreku #13 3 years ago

Hmm. A Western Digital Scorpio 500GB 2.5" harddrive costs 895 SEK. A 120 GB Xbox 360 harddrive costs 1250 SEK. You'd think Microsoft could at least include a 320 GB harddrive in the package for that price..

I was initially disappointed with GTAIV, but Lost and Damned fixed a lot of the little niggling things that annoyed me (MISSION CHECKPOINTS!) and was overall just a much better experience than the main game. I don't think Johnny was quite as good as Niko, but he was still a great character and it was interesting to see the city and characters from a totally different perspective, even though you're going through the same city, it didn't feel like it.

Bottom line: I'm looking forward to this, but I'm another 20gb owner that just has no space to install it.

Will these things ever see the light of day on the PC?

"Anyone familiar with the 360 data transfer cable and if you can transfer from 20 to 60gb?"

It should work fine, although you may have to request a data transfer kit from Microsoft (for free) since I believe they only package them with 120Gb HDD.
