New Assassin's DLC to arrive tomorrow

Bonfire of the Vanities about to burn.

Ubisoft has announced that the next batch of downloadable content for Assassin's Creed II will arrive tomorrow.

A statement on the company's Twitter page reads: "DLC 2 "Bonfire of Vanities" will release on February 18 on PS Store and Xbox Live". There's no word on price.

However Ubisoft has previously stated it'll cost slightly more than the first bit of DLC, The Battle of Forli, so expect to pay around four quid.

While you're waiting for Bonfire of the Vanities, why not take a look at the trailer?

Anyone know if this DLC is going to offer anything more satisfying than the apparently weak and pointless Forli stuff?

    @ Jackface

probably not in all honesty...I'd like to be pleasantly surprised but I fear I won't be...i want to get them both to "complete" the game but the 1st DLC has been marked as...junk.

    :-(

Luckily I have a shipload of other stuff to play, so I won't be persuaded by boredom to pick it up.

I generally think the response to the Forli DLC has been a bit unnecessary.

For 320 MS Points, you get about 30 mins to 1 hours additional play which fills in a side plot away from the main quest plus it explains how Ezio gets his funky beard!

Thats about the same price as some tat for your Avatar so no complaints from me.

Nice that they've brought it forward a week. There's meant to be two versions - one which comes with just BotV and one which has BotV and the additional tombs that were in the Collector's Edition versions of the game.

DLC with no added acheivements is a big fat waste of time and a dead giveaway this 'new' stuff is actually content already trimmed from the retail release.

Shame on you Ubi, shame on you.

Yes, there will be two versions. I read this on a german site:

The basic variant is going to be 320 MSP, the extended will be 520 MSP. The extended version will contain three new places to explore:

    - Palazzo Medici
    - Santa Maria dei Frari
    - Arsenal Shipyard

As far as I remember those are the three places that were exclusive to the 'Black Edition' until now...

I've completed AC2 to platinum and enjoyed it. Wouldn't spend more money just to fill in a couple of gaps in the middle, when I know the ending. Pointless.

Couldn't agree more. From a gameplay and storyline perspective it is pointless to add in the scene that Ubi cut. And from a consumer point of view it's not something you really want to support as it's likely that Ubi or other companies may start removing chunks from the main plot to sell later as well.

Anyone know if this second lot of DLC will have achievements? Or at least the more expensive one will?

Ubisoft seem to want to "extract till the pips squeak". Voting with your wallet is the only answer, but alas there will be enough sheep who will give the green light to Ubisoft and others to continue to milk them. I personally bought the game, completed it to platinum level and that's it. No more money to Ubisoft for AC2 from me.

Now the complete game has finally been released, I'll actually get round to finishing it. I've been sitting around at the end of chapter 11 in my Auditore cape for ages now...

I just hope UBI dont make a habbit of removing content then selling it to us. I intend on buying splinter cell and ghost reacon this year and wont be happy to have to wait and pay extra in order to finish them fully!
