Pop a pair of glasses on and see.

3D simulations of renowned Nintendo 64 games have appeared on YouTube. They offer non-E3 goers a glimpse of what the 3DS can do.

Games demoed include Mario Kart 64, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Excite Bike 64, Starfox 64 and Mario 64.

You'll need a pair of the old coloured 3D glasses to see what Nintendo is trying to create. You can change the 3D output of the video by clicking the "3D" button on the bar below the picture.

Note that the 3D glasses you stole from the cinema when you went to watch Up! or Avatar do not work. I've just tried.

Also remember that the 3DS offers a 3D picture without the need for glasses. That's one of the reasons Eurogamer was bowled over by Nintendo's new handheld at E3 last month.

I just thought I'd point out that all that guy did was use a specific driver to render those games in '3d'.

Not wanting to poop on anyones parade, but that's hardly a simulation of a 3ds screen.

Headline made it sound a little fantastic, s'all.

Well, using a special driver to create the 3d effect is still a lot more effort than it takes to just run the clip through a filter which picks up on the edges to create the 3d effect.

I used the cross-eyed method, which actually works pretty well for those used to magic eye picture (I was a kid when they first appeared and everyone went nuts for them, so I've had a lot of practice).

As Dudemeister said, there are already plugins, filters & drivers to do this sort of thing on PC.

That's why 3D gaming is such a big deal for PC gamers! Or not.

Hit and miss these videos, but the Mario 64 one is very good. Always handy having a pair of red/green glasses at work.

So is there somewhere I can download an emulator with this option patched in?
