Mythic drops EA from its name
WAR developer rolls back its brand.
EA Mythic boss Mark Jacobs has told MMORPG.com that the Warhammer Online developer is dropping the EA from its name, and becoming Mythic Entertainment once more.
That's what the company was called before EA bought it, and the name under which it released its previous MMO, Dark Age of Camelot.
Jacobs explained that the name change didn't indicate any change in the company's relationship with EA, beyond the more open attitude EA has recently taken to the development studios it owns.
"I've always been a believer of separate branding," said Jacobs. "I think that this is a wonderful example of how things at EA are changing. Both John [Riccitiello] and Frank [Gibeau] have spoken multiple times about city states, more freedom, that sort of thing, and I think this is an obvious example."
MMORPG.com promises more exclusive announcements from Jacobs, all relating to Warhammer Online, later today.

Also it's nice to see theres less tinfoil hat/troll responces to the news then on MMORPG.com, 'it's the downfall of the game as Mythic's game as they realised EA + MMO = fail' yea right... it's one of the highest profile games comming out this year, i very much dought Mythic would break away from a company just throwing money at them.
All that it is is Mythic wants to stay 'Mythic' and EA are happy wth that

That was my first thought, though I wouldn't say its completely inevitable yet...

to the above two posts: they are still the same company if you read, only Mythic is being allowed to BE Mythic not having to be given the 'ok' by EA everyday

lol, good one
at jack and gaol, EA don't need to distance themselves. If they thought this was going to tank, they'd pull the plug. end of.

EA distancing themselves from what it sees to be a potential embarrassment given the latest announcement re WAR's dropping of approx 99% of the promised content and gameplay at launch, then not even commiting to putting that content in after launch.
Dear me, another AoC in the making it seems.
Hopefully not though.
