Theme tune stuck in head now.

Deep Silver is transforming The Magic Roundabout into PC, Wii, and DS games for release at the end of the year.

The best characters from the hippy '60s children's show will be recreated here, including Dougal, Zebedee, Florence and Ermintrude the cow.

A brand new story will be written for the game, and each platform will have unique control quirks. Blowing the DS will gust a paper plane through the air, for example, while shaking the mouse or Wiimote uncovers hidden objects. God.

The Magic Roundabout is a bit of a staple in the UK, and was narrated by Eric Thompson, who just happens to be actress Emma Thompson's dad. There was a film released in 2005, apparently, but we missed it.

Oh dear.

This would only have worked as some sort of cutesy yet inherently sinister psychedelic cross between Animal Crossing and Psychonauts, but it's just going to be another platformer, isn't it.
