LEGO Indiana Jones 2 announced

Out this autumn, with level builder.

LucasArts has announced LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues.

It's due out for DS, PC, PS3, PSP, Wii and Xbox 360 this autumn, with Traveller's Tales wielding the whip.

As you might imagine, in addition to bits from the original three films, the second LEGO Indy in as many years takes in the fourth film, Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull.

But it goes further than that, according to LucasArts' Kellam Eanes, who told IGN that it introduces user-generated content.

There's a new level builder for creating your own tombs and challenges and a character-creator.

You can also perform new whip moves as Indy, grabbing enemies to drag them towards you and throwing them over your shoulder.

It's hard to tell whether that will be enough to build on last year's solid LEGO Indy debut, but the kids will no doubt lap it up.

What a con; there's probably enough additional content here to justify a DLC package but certainly not a complete retail release. This looks to be little more than a kick in the groin for anyone who bought the original.

While I have enjoyed all Lego games so far, I can't justify getting this at full price, so it will have to wait until it hits the bargain bins...

So the guy who got made redundant and leaked this last summer was right after all. This was always going to happen and I'm glad that I gave the first game a swerve because of it.

This stuff should have been in the original release. Surely this should have been downloadable for those with the original.

It must be great selling the same game over and over again, simply changing the visuals each time to match popular franchise x.

Remember when LucasArts used to make good games? Do TIE Fighter 2 you shit heads.

I enjoyed the LEGO Star Wars and Indiana Jones game but didn't bother with Batman as the formula is wearing wafer-thin for me and the games do feel far, far too similar. Granted I'm not the primary audience for the LEGO games - I'm 42 - but I do feel that Traveller's Tales are getting a bit lazy with these games and resting on their laurels somewhat because they know they'll sell on the name alone.

The Lego games are great fun to play with children. I can't face playing them myself for very long but with a little one they are a different beast.

Saying that, fucked if I'm paying full retail for some DLC.
