GTA IV DLC in 2008 and 2009?

Fiscal 2009 anyway.

Take Two has said that it plans to release "additional episodic content for Grand Theft Auto IV" in fiscal 2009.

CEO Ben Feder had been gassing away in the company's Q1 financial statement about how "for the balance of fiscal 2008 our releases will include" among other things he mentioned "episodic content for Grand Theft Auto IV on Xbox 360".

But then he added: "We also have significant visibility into fiscal 2009, which includes additional episodic content for Grand Theft Auto IV, Mafia II, Borderlands, BioShock 2, our complete sports line-up, additional Nick Jr. titles under our agreement with Nickelodeon, and several new brands."

Up to now we've known about two additional Xbox 360-exclusive GTA IV episodes, which Microsoft may or may not have spent USD 50 million to secure (certainly puts horse armour into perspective). Microsoft has previously said that the downloadable episodes will be "starting fall 2008", which is autumn in old money, but we don't know exactly what form they will take or how much you will have to pay for them.

So, does Feder's latest statement mean we'll be getting more than the two episodes, or just that the release will be staggered? Given that Take Two's financial year ends on 31st October, it could mean nothing, but in the absence of clarification it's hard to rule anything out.

Or does it mean, as people with nothing better to do have speculated, that PS3 will get some as well? Expect this one to run and run and then steal a car because it's faster.
