The PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV is now available to pre-order via Steam - and there's a special treat for those who get in early.

According to the Steam website, everyone who orders GTA IV now will get a free copy of GTA: Vice City, playable immediately.

GTA IV, however, isn't out till 3rd December. The PC version is being offered for USD 39.99 (around GBP 27 / EUR 32).

Nice deal, if you for some reason have been living under a rock for the last 6 years... ;)

r4z0rbl4d3: It always strikes me as strange that so many gamers think that everyone must have been playing games for decades, just like them...

Slightly off-point, but in keeping with the bitchiness, the Steam Update press release thing also offers a free copy of Sands of Time when you pre-order the new Prince of Persia*.

*Offer only valid in countries where Ubisoft aren't being a bunch of dicks.

GTA VC costs about £4 from Zavvi nowadays, so make your decision based on that, eh?

ie get GTA IV if you've got a PC capable of running it well, and if you like GTA games. If not then don't.

GTAIV is so much better than the god-awful SR2. It has a plot, for one.

Don't understand GTAIV hate at all. It's GOTY for me (well, apart from Braid)

Erm, no it isn't. You forgot about the "tax" that STEAM adds on - so the USD 39.99 converts to over 31 quid ! I fail to understand the logic of STEAM pricing, when the physical retail version is just 25 quid - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Grand-Theft-Auto... - it's just absolute insanity that the digital versions cost more...
