Forza 3, FIFA 10 make Japan chart News

Xbox 360 PlayStation 2 PSP DS PlayStation 3 Wii
News by Robert Purchese

2 November, 2009

Xbox 360 exclusive Forza Motorsport 3 has raced into the Japanese chart this week, finishing at six.

That's one place above FIFA 10 on PS3, a game in a series long considered an outsider in the face of Konami's home-grown Winning Eleven series (Pro Evolution Soccer).

There are two further new entries in the top 10, which are Rune Factory 3 on DS at five and Dynasty Warriors 6 Special on PSP at 10.

However, there's little change at the top of the Media Create hardware and software charts. Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver, Wii Fit Plus, Tomodachi Collection (Friend Collection) and Inazuma Eleven 2 make up the top five games.

Meanwhile, DS holds top hardware honours with nearly 50,000 sales for the week ending 25th October. And PSP, PS3 and Wii follow with 33,000, 30,000 and 26,000 sales, respectively.

Miles behind is Xbox 360 with 4470 sales, and PS2 bottoms the pile with a paltry 1951 sales. Happy anniversary.

That's bound to be considered a success for Forza 3, and rightly so.

Word is that forza 3 doesn't contain enough skylines for the eastern audience. Holding out for gt seems preferable.

"shows that with the right quality software and if msoft keep chipping away at JAPAN the 360 will eventually be on a level playing field with the ps3."

Well, if you were unsure about the meaning of the word wrong this statement is an excellent example of being wrong.

donnie, 4500 360's to 30,000 ps3's ....ms are hardly chipping away at ps3 in japan are they? it seems pretty obvious that despite all their attempts to crack the japanese market they ve failed miserably. This may be a cultural thing or national brand loyalty but one thing the japs dons appriciate is shoddy unreliable kit! thats why there cars have legendary reliability.

True that. You'll survive a nuclear war in a Japanese car.

Seriously man give it up, your MS spin is just too much, if you think MS are on there way to a level playing field in japan in this generation.

Good Grief.

Can we PLEASE stop replying to donnie. Just put him on ignore - the only thing that will remind you of his existence is other people replying to him (hint)

Got a CTR and never heard a squeak, and the service is minimal compared to zee germans. Barking up the wrong tree there mate.

Also MS are hitting a cultural brick wall in Japan, can't see them ever cathing up to sony or ninty there, well not with a MS badge anyway...

Well then Japanese must export some shitty quality cars to China since I saw a much higher percentage malfunctions on them than German and American(!) ones.
