E3: Ubi unveils Your Shape News

Wii News by Ellie Gibson

2 June, 2009

Ubisoft has unveiled Your Shape, a fitness title designed to work with a new camera for the Wii.

Much like other fitness titles, it'll measure how many calories you burn and track how well you do exercises. But there's a twist - it'll be the first fitness title to allow for hands-free workouts.

Ubi has been working with Nintendo to design a custom camera for Your Shape. It'll plug into the Wii's USB port. Then you'll be able to get real-time feedback on how you're doing, and see whether you're matching the correct postures on-screen. No need for a remote or nunchuk, let alone a balance board.

Your Shape will be out in time for Christmas.

If it does the job it was designed for, then it isn't crap at all.

We'll end up with fifty cameras taped to our flatscreen TVs.

Or an Eyetoy clone or a DSi camera clone.

I have never played a WarioWare game (except for a few minutes on my R4, shhh) but I wonder what a new WarioWare game could be like.

WMP, Wii Speak, Balance Board, Wii Camera

Also doesn't the Wii Fit + Balance Board involve a hands-free workout? Sure you have to touch the board sometimes, but then you may as well claim that you have to use your hands to set up the camera.

FFS, I've had enough of bloody accessories for the Wii. Can't they just make frickin' games that use the existing ones please?
