DSi pre-orders double at GAME News

DS News by Ellie Gibson

2 April, 2009

GAME has announced that pre-orders for the Nintendo DSi are more than double those for the DS Lite during the same pre-release phase.

The new iteration of the handheld will go on sale tomorrow. Selected GAME branches will open at midnight tonight specially for those who pre-ordered. Then all stores will open at 7am tomorrow so shoppers can scramble for the first batch of stock.

"We know customers will want to get their hands on it at the earliest opportunity so we've made it as easy as possible," said GAME bigwig Anna Macario.

"There will be a lot of activity in our stores to help customers upgrade to the DSi, and get some great deals and products at the same time."

Not really surprising, they're knocking half the price off the DSi if you pre-order it and trade in your lite.

I really don't think anybody already owning a DS would pay full price for a DSI until the old one breaks.
