Double Fine has four games on the go

Each signed to a publisher.

Double Fine has four games in development and they all have publishers, Tim Schafer told Develop today.

Some of the games are downloadable and some retail.

Schafer didn't offer any details on the games themselves, but did say that three of the teams were headed up by Nathan Marks, Tasha Harris and Lee Petty, who all had big roles on Brutal Legend, Double Fine's last release.

Schafer keynote at the Brighton conference threatened to be overshadowed by remarks made in a Eurogamer interview yesterday where he described Activision boss Bobby Kotick as "a total prick".

But Schafer admitted that he had overstepped the mark a bit during Q&A at the end of his speech, explaining that sometimes such thoughts are best kept to ourselves. He then inadvertently compared Kotick to Darth Vader.

Still using the "total prick" line to bump up hits, eh?

Hah, I just read in the comments thread of the 'Shafer sorry for Prick comment' that EG have reported everything except Shafers company has four games on the go.

    Man they are quick.

four projects, great! Brutal legend was one of those few releases where I scoured the internet to find any new juicy bits of infomation... Unfortunatly the anticipation was too much and didnt live up to my hopes... still, i completed brutal legend 100%! But i dont want to get too excited over anything like that again!

I think it's high time EG users could + or - articles, too.

He then inadvertently compared Kotick to Darth Vader.

That's exactly how I read his comment too...even if he didn't mean it, for a guy who is a writer he sure is "clumsy".

As said before, if Activision wants us to ever forgive them for their "missteps" they can start by giving the good example and forgive Schafer.

Wow Tom, really milking this. Must be a slow news day :)

Four games seems...a lot for one studio.
I wonder how they can guarantee consistency and quality across that many products, especially in different genres, but I'm guessing from Brutal Legend, they'll all be mixed bags of good/terrible and nothing will be truly stand out.

Yeah this is BS - stop causing trouble for the guy - everyone knows he's awesome.

To be honest - I find it a bit strange that a website who is happy to review games for kids such as Toy Story etc are quite at home having quotes like this alongside.

Eurogamer family friendly? I think not.

    Should have a 15 certificate.

"Schafer keynote at the Brighton conference threatened to be overshadowed"

Well, it was overshadowed for you, since you missed the "four games" part.

I'm praying his nephew keeps pestering him on that one...

He may have called him a prick, but he also called him a 'widget maker', which is much more damning if you ask me.

I hope this doesn't end up like that time Lionhead had too many games on the go.
