Bizarre offers Club update

Nearly ready to show.

Those PGR-making men up at Bizarre Creations have taken a bit of time out from sneakily developing games behind big blackout curtains to explain what's going on with one of their lesser-heard-about titles, The Club.

You may remember that we rather liked what we saw of the fast-paced shooter at E3 last year. "Development has been progressing on The Club steadily, and we're now at the stage where we really have a solid game to show for our efforts," the developer says in its latest studio update.

"We took the 'gameplay first, graphics second' approach with The Club, and in terms of playability it has paid dividends. Now it's just a case of knuckling down, getting the art finished, and balancing/bug testing everything.

"I'm completely aware that we've been 'running dark' with The Club for a long time," writes community and web man Ben Ward. "Info and screenshots are rare, and public gameplay footage is non existent.

"But don't worry... that's all going to change very soon. We've already given a couple of press days to some select print journalists, and online media will follow in the next few weeks." WE BETTER.

"Personally I can't wait to blow the lid right off, and introduce you to the full game!"

For more on that, and a few more teasers about what they're up to, check out the rest of the update. Bizarre is also currently working on an Xbox Live Arcade game called Boom Boom Rocket as well, of course, as PGR4.

Bizarre never mess up. I am frankly baffled why the big MS splashed so much dosh on Rare when the PGR series is SO iconic to Xbox, PG3 was the only true 'Next Gen' title in the 360 launch line up and still shifts enough units per week to lurk around the all formats top 30 more than a year after launch.
Still while I am clearly in the Xbox favouring camp, I do want the Club to appear on PS3. I would like to see 90% cross platform with 10% console exclusives to tempt the punters to have another box under the telly.
