ASDA drops 80GB PS3 price to £250

Retailer discount jumps gamescom gun.

UK supermarket ASDA has begun selling the PS3 at "a new low price" of £250 - a move that adds further credence to reports of an official price-drop announcement at the Sony gamescom conference today.

The ASDA bundle includes an 80GB PS3, Terminator Salvation game, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines Blu-ray film and either Ghostbusters: The Game or inFamous.

A spokesperson for the shop, which also sells some trendy George clothes, told GamesIndustry.biz the offer would continue until PS3 stock runs out - as Sony is thought to be discontinuing the 80GB model.

Several European retailers - in France and Sweden - have also dropped their PlayStation 3 prices over the last week.

Rumours have long suggested that these price drops are clearing the way for the fabled PS3 Slim.

We'll know for sure later this evening, which is also when Sony will take the PlayStation Network offline for two hours, between 5-7pm BST. Why? We'll have to wait and see.

    Still too expensive - should be £230 at most

    No, I think it should be £227 at most.
  • rotmm #4 3 years ago

    Actually, £223.58 + 6 games and 12 BluRay. Otherwise $ony can go fuck 'emselves.

    Edit: And they should throw in a 40" Bravia with that, otherwise they are just ripping us off.

    Still not cheap enough for me to buy one. I hope the Slims have PS2 compatibility or I will happily wait even longer before I get a PS3.
  • Edwin #6 3 years ago

    @SIFU

    what a complete bell end you are....... 250.00 with a blu ray and 2 games (one of them the rather good infamous) is too expensive.. don't mean to be abusive but just get lost you cock.
  • Goodfella #7 3 years ago

    lol @ Edwin.

    Good price when you think about it.
  • Monkey_Puncher #8 3 years ago

    It's not a bad price, considering you're getting a Blu-Ray Drive and a console for £250, never mind the free games.
  • NotSoSlim #9 3 years ago

    @ Eraysor

    PS2 compatability apparently through firmware...hopefully announced today also. This has to be the last year of the PS2.
  • penhalion #10 3 years ago

    Be careful that this price drop isn't just to clear stock before the slims arrive!
  • rotmm #11 3 years ago

    @penhalion,

    Of course this drop is to clear stock pre-slim.

    However, that doesn't mean the slim won't be similarly priced when released. I'm guessing £249 - no bundle.
  • OldK1ngCole #12 3 years ago

    Just had word at work that Sony will announce a PS3 price cut today. New retail price of £239.99.
  • mkreku #13 3 years ago

    If it has PS2 compatibility I'm not sure I can stop myself from buying one.. Would be great to finally get a Blu-Ray player, get rid of my old, fat PS2 (yes, I have the old version) and gain a PS3 in the same purchase.
  • Vanmunt #14 3 years ago

    With my countdown maths I make that 170.05 for the PS3 taking off the extras... now that is a bargain considering the XBOX is actually going up to 159.99.. taking into account all the extras you have to add for the 360 (wireless charger, wireless conector and paying for xbox live) that is pretty atractive deal.
  • Dizzy #15 3 years ago

    The question is.... wouldn't it be better to buy a slim then?
  • MeBrains #16 3 years ago

    vanmunt: considering all that, the PS3 has always been an attractive deal...
  • TheNinkyNonk #17 3 years ago

    Surely the PS3 is capable of emulating PS2 architecture with a firmware update...
  • Skurmedel #18 3 years ago

    Would be nice, but the included stuff is rather crap to be honest. The movies are at least. The should pay me for owning a Michael Bay movie. Otherwise I guess it's okay. Why not bundle Drake's Fortune or something?
  • Olemak #19 3 years ago

    The price is getting there, although I hope there will be better bundles. The Terminator game is worthless, and the movie is rental only, of that. InFamous is pure brilliance tho.

    Make the x-mas bundle something like 2 games from a selection containg Killzone 2, InFamous, LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 2, Drakes 2 and MAG + pick one blu-ray movie from a decent selection, including Batman: Dark Knight, The Watchmen and whatever the kids are watching these days (GI Joe? Harry Potter?) and we're in business. That would be well worth 250 quid, I'd like to se a valid arguement against the value of such a bindle.

    Of course, the movies would have to be Sony movies, and I don't know what big hits they've had recently. Probably not a lot of them.

    Maybe throw in PSN cupon codes for Warhawk, WipeOut HD and maybe Flower for good measure. If the box itself is even smaller, sleeker and even more quiet, I'd concider getting one myself. ANd I already own a PS3.

    Then there's the TrICO bundle coming down the line, some time... and the God of War III bundle... I think 2010 will be a good year for the PS3, even if 2009 so far has been so-so, in terms of system-selling software. The big, system selling exclusives are still ahead for Sony.
  • #20 3 years ago

    What year is this? Oh were still talking about how expensive the PS3 is despite all the bundled hardware you get with it.
  • RexRunti #21 3 years ago

    Hmmm, £250 for 80GB PS3... £300 for PS3 slim, without any backwards compatibility?

    To be honest I wouldn't be suprised if Sony have dumped the Blu-Ray and all games for the new model are download only.
  • flaming.carrot #22 3 years ago

    The original European PS3 had PS2 software emulation did it not (as it did not have the same hardware inside as the US version? Pretty sure I played a couple of my old PS2 games on it when I first bought it - so should be pretty capable of putting it back on there, especially as Sony have now had a couple more years to possibly work on the emulator.
  • gourry #23 3 years ago

    Would be nice to see PS2 compatibility come back as I think they alienated a lot of people removing it. I know the xbox backward compatibility was a bit naff as well but the back catalogue for the PS2 was much richer. Hmm £250 - tempting if only for the blu ray player. I have a 360 so generally speaking I wouldn't gain much from the games but there are some fun games online that are exclusive I've played at friends.

    The PS3 would find it hard to emulate the PS2's graphics chip. It still is a very fast chip and in some ways smokes the PS3's Nvidia chip
  • sifujames #25 3 years ago

    @ Edwin

    Wake up on the wrong side of the bed did you? Granted, it's a much better deal then before, but I honestly think it's still not great - 1 good game, 1 filler game and a Blu-ray of a bad movie? This might sound odd, but I'd rather pay for £230 for a PS3 just with Infamous then pay £20 extra and get filler that's going to end up gathering dust. I can use that £20 to buy Uncharted.

    if there's a price drop announced tonight, I'd make it lower than £250 ~ something £224,95 like...

    but who am I. I guess Sony knows what it is doing...
  • RexRunti #27 3 years ago

    @flamming.carrot Yup the original Euro PS3 had backwards compatibility (very slightly limited when compared to the US version). I had to shop around for ages to get my one when after the new models came out.
  • BritishBlue1 #28 3 years ago

    It doesn't matter how much Sony drop the price some people, especially on these boards, will never be happy.

    I think it's very reasonable myself for a 1 film & 2 games bundle. Let's not forget that Sony's current RRP is £300 but some places were selling it for £20 or £30 less. If Sony officially slashes the price by £50 don't be surprised to see places like Asda or play.com start selling the PS3 at prices closer to £200, especially when the christmas price wars start.

  • speedjack #29 3 years ago

    Still too expensive for me.

    I've no interest in blu-ray movies, so it comes down to (shock/horror!) the games alone... and I can only think of 3 exclusives that I'm interested in (Killzone 2, LBP and Wipeout), neither of which have swayed me enough to get my wallet out.

    As of now there is more than enough stuff on the 360 to keep me occupied and more than I have time/money to play so - thanks but no thanks.

    Maybe in another 2 years ?
  • schnide #30 3 years ago

    Too little, too late.

    The only potential saving grace for Sony is if this really is to clear the shelves for the slim, but if true then they're handling this incredibly badly. There'll be enough pissed off owners of the old model who've just bought one, plus the price point for either is still too high to really make a splash big enough to dent the lead that the 360 has earnt (never mind the Wii).
  • M_of_the_sys #31 3 years ago

    I'm struggling to figure out whether this is a joke or not...
  • StooMonster #32 3 years ago

    For the soon to be ceased 80GB model:

    US reduces $400 to $300 = 25% reduction
    Europe rumoured to reduce €400 to €300 = 25% reduction
    UK reduces £300 to £250 = 17% reduction

    If PS3 owners are like 360 ones, then more than half are plugged into SD televisions so Blu-ray discs are completely irrelevant as a bundle items (unless they have some inventory they want to clear down).
  • elephant_stone #33 3 years ago

    I love "trendy George clothes"! I also love shopping with chavs.
  • andywilkie35 #34 3 years ago

    Really makes me wish I'd waited - I paid £300 for my 40gb PS3 last May in preparation for MGS4. Over a year later and the only games that have been worth playing are MGS4 and drunken Singstar. I feel like I've been raped and my ringpiece is in tatters everywhere. If I'd waited til now I could have only spent £250 (plus £20) to play MGS4. Shit!
  • Darren #35 3 years ago

    £250 for a PS3 with two free games and a BD movie is great value, assuming you want a BD player and built-in Wi-Fi too. I still think the ideal price for any console should be sub-£200 and I can't see that happening for the PS3 any time soon. As long as the bundles add value it makes up for the high price somewhat (unless the games and BD movie don't interest you... you could always sell them though).

    About the PS3's BD player... I wonder how many of the console's 24 million user base have the means to watch BD movies on an HDTV and how many of those have 1080p displays? I'd love to know myself.
  • Bazfrag #36 3 years ago

    "Still too expensive." There are people who will troll a thread with no intention of buying a ps3 even at £99.
  • Darren #37 3 years ago

    @andywilkie35 - Don't you use your PS3 as a BD movie player at all?

    And if it helps I paid £425 for my launch PS3 in March 2007 though I don't regret it one bit. For one thing it has extra features that current PS3s don't have such as PS2 emulation, memory card slots and additional USB ports so it does feel like a special edition version. I admit that my PS3 has probably been used more for watching BD and upscaled DVD movies on and less for games.

    As for PSN going offline... rumours are that firmware v3.0, a major update, is supposed to be launching soon so I wouldn't be surprised if it was in preparation for that. Don't quote me though, it's only something I've "heard".
  • NickJC1 #38 3 years ago

    Wow you people must be poor as fuck to still be complaining about this. Let me guess you want Sony to throw in a coupon to buy your kids new school uniforms from Asda that's also good for a free carton of milk if you're on welfare.

    You poor cunts shouldn't even be playing games.
  • dloob #39 3 years ago

    Do they supply it with a HDMI cable yet?
    I always thought it bizzare that you open the box of sonys next gen HD console and find an s-video cable and scart adapter.

    I hope they do something with the backwards compatability.
    I have an older euro model that has it, but it's not perfect.
    The first game I tried got a big unsupported error (gitaroo man).
    At least the God of War series was fine.
  • NotSoSlim #40 3 years ago

    @dloob

    No HDMI and now MS new Elite pack comes with standard cables only.
  • Ranger101 #41 3 years ago

    Hey guise - I have a 360 already, and I want to justify buying a ps3 now that the price might be coming down... persuade me to buy one!
  • systems #42 3 years ago

    @Ranger101 - buy one and import a copy of Demon Souls. While you're waiting for that to arrive, play Killzone 2.
  • penhalion #43 3 years ago

    @rotmm

    What I mean is that this may be just like the american price cut before they released the 80gb i.e the new machine was priced higher than the old stock. The price drop may end up being a temporary measure just to shift old stock.

    If that is the case people would be better off seeing what the new slim actually does before commiting to buying the old stock machines. For all we know it may well include backward compatibility again (unlikely I admit).
  • Gaol #44 3 years ago

    All this talk of PS2 software compatibility..

    If they made that work I'd be amazed. They can't even do it on state of the art PCs and the PS3 and PS2 are quite different. I'm sure I remember someone saying the PS3's graphics chip didn't have enough bandwidth, whatever that means.

    And the launch US PS3s did not have software compatibility.. the ones that played PS2 games either had the full hardware EE chip included (launch models, I have one :p); or they at least had the PS2 graphics chip inside.
    Edited by 1 at 18/08/09 @ 11:17
  • kangarootoo #45 3 years ago

    @Gaol

    "If they made that work I'd be amazed. They can't even do it on state of the art PCs and the PS3 and PS2 are quite different."

    Who is "they" exactly? Indie coders who have no access to the original architecture source, who have to muddle their way through using a combination of reverse engineering and trial'n'error?

    That is hardly a reliable comparison to the limits of engineers who work for the platform vendor and have access to all that position provides.
  • NotSoSlim #46 3 years ago

    @ Gaol

    Sony patented something recently to do with PS2 and the cell and i am sure they have a timeframe of when they will stop supporting the PS2 and release the update via firmware. All they have to do is make the big titles work..gamers will accept that.

    Also release them on the store as well
  • Markusdragon #47 3 years ago

    You'd have to pay me to take either the Terminator Salvation game or Terminator 3 Blu-Ray.
  • sifujames #48 3 years ago

    @ farticusmaximus

    The better machine is the one that suits your gaming/media needs, end of story

    Well said. For me, I only want a games console. I'm not interested in BD movies, and I don't really care if it's wireless or not as my router's next to my TV/consoles, and I don't play online anyway. I've not picked up a 360 as none of the games particularly interest me, and I'm holding off on a PS3 until God of War 3. Now if Sony can sell me a PS3 Slim with GoW3 for £230, I'd be happy with that.
  • Gaol #49 3 years ago

    @kangarootoo

    Do fuck off.

    @NotSoSlim

    I'd love to see it happen, but I remember reading somewhere long ago that the PS3 just couldn't do the PS2 gpu (what was it called, the RSX or summit). If they've found a way great, but hell PS1 emulation isn't even perfect.

  • Beek4257 #52 3 years ago

    So a PS3 (plus 2 games and a BR-movie) for the price of a PSP Go. That doesn't make it sound too bad at all, actually.
  • sifujames #53 3 years ago

    @ Edwin

    PC, Wii and PS2. I've got a backlog of games that I've not got round to finishing, so I'm quite happy to plug away at those until the PS3 becomes more tempting. TBH, this whole generation of consoles/games has been massively underwhelming for me, so apart from the Wii (which was mainly bought for Zelda and Mario), I've just not bothered at all. Am looking forward to GoW 3 though, so that will probably be the spur for me to move into the HD era, but only if I feel the price makes sense to me.
  • KrissAkabusi #54 3 years ago

    The current PS3 price does make me wonder how in the hell Sony can expect the PSPgo to do anything in the market at £250. PSPgo could be the biggest bomb we've seen in a long long time.
  • kangarootoo #55 3 years ago

    @Gaol

    Haha. Is that your response, seriously? Well I'm sorry for messing with your view of the world. I'll leave you be to play with your toys.
  • laudy #56 3 years ago

    @donnie

    For goodness sake, stop acting like a disgruntled ex-Sony employee. I'm beginning to think you were made redundant by them shortly after overstretching yourself on an interest-only mortgage. This debate is about a price cut being applied to current hardware, which makes sense if you want to clear stock for a new model, in this case ps3 slim. Not everyone will agree with that business model, but hey it's what they're doing (imo), so why not just leave them to the business oblivion that you wish for them?

    No doubt you'll whinge about the advertisments (or lack of) for the new model and amusingly write some words in CAPS for effect, saying Sony are rubbish etc. etc. Having said that, you're more than entitled to your opinion.

  • MiniAmin #57 3 years ago

    Donnie is your favourite colour red?
  • DanC89 #58 3 years ago

    Same price as PSPgo. Shocking.
  • makeamazing #59 3 years ago

    Donnie is a muppet, I feel sorry for the guy as he gets so many minus votes no one gets to see his stupid fanboy rants :)

    Sony seem to be doing alot at the Gamescon show... is MS and Nintendo doing a press event also? Ive read there is a Lionhead announcement, but is there actually a proper full on event?

    Anyway I dont think its a bad thing the PS3 dropping in price, thats good for consumers. Blu ray is great, the only worry i have with it at the moment is that they are now starting to become cheap (movies), saw lots now at £6 odd... I dont mind paying more as its quality i want... if they go too cheap companies wont clean up older movies... there is no point buying a movie if all it is is DVD quality on a blu ray disk.
  • Gaol #60 3 years ago

    @kangarootoo

    Just my response to your usual facetious/pedantic criticism.

    My point was simply that successfully emulating PS2 on would be one hell of an achievement. Look at the evidence - they struggle to get 100% PS1 compatibility, and even with the RSX models (the second wave) where only the EE was emulated they really struggled to get a lot of games running smoothly.

    I don't think PS2 firmware emulation is on the cards but I'd LOVE to be proved wrong.

    Of course there is another incompatibility issue with older games - games designed for CRT screens generally look terrible upscaled on larger LCD and Plasma displays.
  • kangarootoo #61 3 years ago

    @Gaol

    You see, why couldn't you write something like that in the first place.

    I admit I'm a bit of a tit sometimes when something sets me off. And maybe my comment came across is a more dismissive tone that it sounded in my head. I just thought that dismissing on-PS3 emulation just because PC indie coders hadn't managed it seemed a tad naive.

    But reading back, you weren't being arsey about it, so I think I was out of line in the tone of my comment. I apologise.

    Wow, big minuses for pointing out US and Europe get a 25% price cut and UK only gets 17% -- no complaints of 'rip off Britain'? -- although price isn't 'official' until Sony's announcement later today.

    Personally, I might be interested in a PS3 Slim as a media player to replace the Apple TV which has too many annoying limitations; unfortunately cannot use it as a replacement Blu-ray player as mine has 'region-free' DVD and half my DVDs are Region 1.
  • kangarootoo #65 3 years ago

    @jonsaan

  • mattyduk #66 3 years ago

    so a free awful game, a free awful film, and a free "must worse looking that the 360" game. Bargain :)
  • flaming.carrot #67 3 years ago

    @Gaol

    Regarding whether the PS3 is powerful enough to run PS2 games as software emulation, as I said before the Euro launch PS3 had PS2 emulation via software only (as it did not have the emotion engine chip found in the US version). Although some of my PS2 games did not run a good amount did work fine - and with 2 years further work the emulation could be even more compatible.

    This could quite easily been reinstated via a software update. Whether it will or not is another question (depends on how important sony feels BC is to new buyers really), it could certainly open up a vast library of classics that could be downloaded via the PSN store.

    Yea.. add in that you get a free hooker with a 360 and it looks even better!

    Seriously.. grasping at straws here?

    Fact is that Sony went from number one to number three in one big swoop. Fault of Nintendo or MS? Nope.. they fucked up their own brand.
  • Gaol #71 3 years ago

    @flaming.carrot

    Not quite. The launch Euro models didn't have the EE but they did have the PS2's graphics chip inside. It wasn't a software only solution. Then to save costs yet further the graphics chip was removed - resulting in the 40gb with no PS2 compatibility.
  • fknetwork #72 3 years ago

    @ svd_grasshopper
    You are one of the most biased people I have ever seen on a site, people even laugh at you on other gaming sites, that is how silly you make yourself sound,

    I have a 360 and PS3, in my view the 360 pisses all over the PS3 from a great height specially in games, development, online etc, Sony have mucked the PS3 up big time, no price cut or slim will change this, the 360's lead is now close to 9 million with 360 price cuts on the way to counter any moves made by Sony, £99 for a 360 arcade and £159.99 for a 360 Elite, guess what will be selling the most at Christmas? certainly not PS3.....

    The PS3 is selling terribly all around the world at the moment and in the UK it looks like the new Dreamcast, most the stores put the PS3 areas at the back of the stores while 360 and wii is right at the front when you walk in, shop staff also give much better offers for the 360 and will always try and sell you one over a ps3.

    Sony have got what they deserved this generation, too cocky expecting everyone to buy an overpriced "sub-par" system, once GT5 is out there isn't anything I want for my PS3, terrible machine, one in which i wish i never ever bought, never felt this way about a console before lol. PSP is cool though....

  • GreyBeard #75 3 years ago

    @fknetwork

    Ummm, those are some bold claims about MS pricing policy. Especially coming a day after it was posted on this site that they are actually increasing the RRP of the Arcade to £159.99 from the 1st September.

  • StooMonster #76 3 years ago

    Over in US, K-Mart have followed advert by adding a new SKU to their system (so reports Engadget) [edit], apparently Sears have added it to their systems too:

    Playstation 3 Slim 120GB for $299.99

    Very interesting, makes me wonder about Microsoft's pricing policy for Xbox 360 Arcade and what is in the new SKU, if nothing and simply price rise they are nuts; also, if the PS3 Slim is coming here what will the price be ... maybe Asda have lowered price to clear stocks of current models?

    I laughed so hard i spat my Dr Pepper all over my desk. The IT guy is now p*ssed off coz I need a new keyboard. Other people have explained what MS will be doing with their price etc. so no need to go down that road...

    In my opinion, one of the most important features of this generation is online play, perhaps you could tell me what sort of online play you get with a £99 console? Get real...that's the equivalent of buying a dvd player with no LCD display.

    I'm no fan boy, but nothing i've ever bought from Sony has broken down (ok, so i had to turn my psone upside down, but who didn't have that piece of kit at a jaunty angle in it's death throes?? ;-)) which is why i persist with them...I've also had the same 21 inch TV from Sony for almost 13 years. Sorry, but first impressions last...my 360 barely lasted 13 days (i was one of the unlucky ones).

    I almost fell off my chair when donnie said he actually owned a ps3, i reckon he's trying to bring them down from within...

    This debate has gone off on a tangent. I've actually forgotten what my point was...thanks for your time ladies and gents.

    It doesn't matter enough to pay £30 a year I'm afraid. For free, PSN does me just fine thanks very much. Each to their own I guess. XBL was in my life fleetingly, and don't get me wrong, it was decent, but then it left in a blaze of hardware failure...and my house didn't sound like i lived under the Heathrow flight path anymore.

    Sorry, that was crass.

    I'm not tempted by the price cut and a shit film I already own on DVD, an even shitter game, and a wait till it's half price Ghostbusters title. Drop it a further £20 and don't include any of that crap. That said, given that the cost of all 4 quality PS3 exclusives is coming down drastically (I jest, I jest), if they bring back the PS2 compatability, I'll buy the slim when it's released.

    Good value. My launch PS3 is now our central media hub. BluRay, Music (MP3, VidZone etc), Freeview TV, and movie player (XViD etc). Pretty much on constantly because of this, and powering a couple of external 500GB HDD's. £250 seems well worth it.

    fake edit - was launch, now replacement. *sniff*

    @ Trebell

    My 80gb PS3 is quieter than my Jasper 360 :)

    It goes in roundabouts tho as each console gets cheaper they find a way to make it more efficent. Guessing the slim will have external power brick so the fans should basically be silent as no need to cool down the machne as much
  • laudy #82 3 years ago

    when my launch model ps3 gets a bit rowdy, i run my dyson with the brush attachment over all the vents, and the fan itself, I have no idea whether it will break the damn thing, but it certainly brings back the quiet hum...
  • Skurmedel #83 3 years ago

    How quiet is quiet? Because my 360 sounds like a rocket ship. Can be remedied somewhat with "install on disk"; it's still too loud. If there is anything the console people should work on it's that.

    I gott ask since you mention the sound of yoru consoles...

    What kind of lame games do you have to play in order to have your sound lower than the sound of your console? lol I swear I can't understand this cause there is NO way i'll turn my console on without my THX 5.1 speakers on to enjoy my gaming... No way as well as my TV or PC are all hooked on 5.1.

    What's even fannier is that even my A.C. ( not when in hybernation ofc.. ) and my PC ( which is open due to constant modding etc ) make more noice from my 360 which i had from day one yet I dont use my console much lately cause I have no time for it...

    Can anyone answer me HOW can you hear your console's noice over your game's sound? wtf kind of convo is this ever since the first damn 360 came out I keep seeing this stupid arguement. Personal opinion -I DO find it dumb :p

    @trebell
    Yup, anything with a fan on it you should be making sure every couple of months that it's clean. And if you ask me go check EVEN your fridge cause it can burn out the motor from overheating. Doesn't happen only on consoles and PCs :)
  • Skurmedel #86 3 years ago

    I do hear my game, even through my (surround) system, but I live in an apartment where I can't blast sound too high, and even at a pretty high level I find the noise from my console rather irritating.

    My point is: would you accept a third of your screen being blurry? I expect my sound to be as high fidelity as my visuals.

    Since I'm also using the 360 as my DVD-player, or trying to, I think my point is very valid. The dynamic range of some games might not be very high, so you can just turn up the volume and expect to hear anything. But that isn't the case with all movies. A quiet scene is meant to be quiet, it's not meant to have a constant humming in the background. That's why I'm interested in the sound levels of the PS3, as a potential Blu-ray-player it needs to be silent.

    @Skurmedel
    Ok I have to agree with you. Didn't see it that way cause first off I dont use my console as a player at all I use my splattered PC which is also loud cause its all open with way too many fans all over ( can't put watercooling on this one for multiple reasons :S ). Plus the fact I do blast my sound WAY too much.. and even the annoying PC sound is not noticable at all the few momments the sound will drop lvls from the huge volume difference I can't realise the PC sound at all so...

    I guess the fact I put way too loud the volume in either movies and gaming is why i NEVER notice the sounds from the PC/Player/Console. Guess it works out great for me that way lol Only I felt like crying when my first surround system died on me and was using that fake Surround from my HDTV's speakers for about a week :p

    davisorle - Commas are your friend!
  • NotSoSlim #90 3 years ago

    @donnie

    The fact that that engine will be used by certain in house devs makes that investment worth it in the long run does it not? Plus KZ2 redeemed the franchise and it now has a base to work off for any future games. Bigger picture and all that

    LOL ya think? Well thank god you understand half the things im saying since im Greek :p The fact I forget to put commas can't be that bad now, can it? Imagine how worst it would be if I was forgeting words instead ;) But TY for the heads up lol.
  • coolbritannia #92 3 years ago

    Oh yes Grasshopper, Sony have certainly shifted a lot of blu-ray players, but in terms of games played, the PS3 is only marginally more popular than the original xbox at the moment.
  • harzo #93 3 years ago

    I have never been interested in a PS3, I love my 360 and have been content up till now.

    But this seems like a really good offer and I am very tempted.

    Trolls make me angry! Seriously grow up. These threads can be like a school playground.
  • Skurmedel #94 3 years ago

    harzo: I'm afraid sometimes that's not far from the truth ;)
  • Hexagon #95 3 years ago

    I think I can justify buying a PlayStation 3 for myself at that price.
  • Bravestinsane #96 3 years ago

    This would be very tempting and i would genually run out and buy one with my student loan if i didn't already have a Blu- Ray player in my PC, would look nice next to my 360 and PC, and the Shiney console next to my shiney TV....I LIKE SHINEYS!! im joking im not a football fan.

    But still wasn't for the Blu Ray player i already have i would pick this up
