Why's it late? Because I sodding overslept

Ok ok, it's past five thirty on a Friday, and you can't very well pick any of these up from your local gaming boutique right this second - but then again, it's the weekend tomorrow, and I'm sure you all know what made this January 17th special anyway, right? Sim City 4. Of course.

But despite it still being January, there was actually another game this week easily worthy of your attention, and that is Sucker Punch's enjoyable platform romp, Sly Raccoon, debuting on PS 2 this Friday. Read Kristan's review for his glowing take on it.

Elsewhere, the shelves remain somewhat bare, with only Konami's ISS Advance sneaking out this week (finally, after several aborted attempts). We haven't seen it ourselves, because Konami never sends us GBA titles, but hopefully it's better than the publisher's previous efforts to port the spectacular series to a Nintendo handheld. Why not just pick out one of the 16-bit ISSes and port that, eh?

There wasn't much else to speak of this week. Infogrames managed to get MicroMachines out on Cube to no fanfare whatsoever, and we confidently predict that this version will shift no more than a few thousand units. It certainly shouldn't bother the All Formats Top 40.
