Saber Will Rock FPS

Silly name for a game four-hundred-and-seventy-something

As we all know, there simply are not enough first person shooters set before guns even existed. Fortunately, Saber Interactive's Will Rock aims to correct this oversight by plunging gamers into the ancient Greece-bound shoes of Willford Rockwell (or Will Rock), as he races around a mixture of Greek and Roman environments with his Medusa Gun, Flaming Crossbow and Acid Rifle amongst other common tools of the period.

The game, which is to be published by Ubi Soft, will consist of 10 huge levels (rather like Halo does), packed with enemies and puzzle-based gameplay, and an unknown number of multiplayer maps. The game engine, which is Saber's own proprietary technology, will allow for all sorts of real-time melting, inflating and shattering, which should make for a pleasant spectacle. Will Rock "will thrill", as producer Chuck Yager put it.

Will Rock is a PC-only project which should appear in Europe during Q1 2003.
