2K signs Jordan for NBA 2K11?

Not Katie Price.

2K Sports may have signed basketball legend Michael Jordan to front NBA 2K11.

The Chicago Bulls and Space Jam star will appear on the box and as a playable character in the game, according to ESPN.

Jordan might not be the only golden oldie making a reappearance, as ESPN reports hearing whispers that his peers (both team-mates and rivals) are being tapped up by 2K. Could we see Pippen, Rodman and Jordan reunited?

The rest of the game's roster probably hopes not.

Also, Jordan's majority stake in the Charlotte Bobcats means this will be the first time a basketball team owner has endorsed the NBA 2KX series of games.

NBA 2K11 hasn't formally been announced, and 2K could not be reached for comment.

Fantastic news and a long time coming. Also a very smart move by 2K Sports as this will give them even more of an edge over competitor EA Sports NBA Live series.

Basketball game fans have been waiting anxiously for this moment and will relish the opportunity to play as the greatest (IMO) basketball player the world has ever seen.

News of this should be made official at E3. Can't wait.... :)

    No Katie Price, no sale.

The Bulls at their prime in the mid-nineties were an absolute joy to watch, they were unstoppable.

It'd be awesome to play as that iconic team in the game, shame I'm bloody rubbish at it, I picked up 2K9 on release, it's a tough game and you really have to know the ins and outs of the sport.

Would only have been interested if it did feature Katie Price's bouncing balls.

NBA Jam for the SNES was the pinnacle of basketball games - nothing could beat the experience of 4 players gathered around a tiny tv elbowing and shouting in each others faces and then one of the losers quickly turning it off just as the winning 3 pointer was about to swish through the net....He's on Fire!

Was there rumours of a HD redux coming out on Xbox Live?

Just checked there - it's coming out on the Wii! Please be good.....

I hope they didn't spend all their money signing Jordan and won't have enough left to fix the crapton of bugs 2k10 had. My Player mode was such a cool idea in theory, but oh god. The bugs, the bugs.

I was having a lot of fun with my little shooting guard, until one day he was simply turned into a computer player. As in, I couldn't control him anymore - all I could do was watch the games. Very frustrating (and it doesn't help that 2k's support forums are a wasteland).

I've never liked basketball games really, they never quite captured the flow of them I thought (except like Roland said, NBA Jam was excellent).

Jordan was an absolute legend - it's just so great to watch when someone comes along and just totally dominates the sport for years, changing the game completely. Kind of like how Michael Johnson did with running.

I don't know anything about basketball any more - used to watch it when it was on Channel 4, that show was alright! I remember staying up late for the allstar game a few times.

Glad he's making a bit of cash easily rather than working in a sweat shop for pennies making his shoes.
