Nintendo Switch system update 5.0 doesn't live up to its big new version number

There's new Arms icons, though.

Big new version numbers typically mean big new changes - but this isn't the case for Nintendo's fancy-sounding Switch update 5.0.

Install the update and you'll be able to add Facebook and Twitter contacts to your Switch friends list - a useful feature.

Digital software bought online will start downloading faster with 5.0 installed - which is good.

Finally, Switch Pro Controllers will now be coloured in the controllers menu. Uh-huh.

And that's about it, unless you use Parental Controls - you can now whitelist particular software, while captured videos will also be locked to the parental setting of the specific game.

We'll have to wait a bit longer for folders, system themes and a Virtual Console section on the eShop.

There's some new user icons themed around Arms and Kirby, though, so Martin's happy.
