PlayStation 4 hits 10m sales mark

PlayStation TV release date, PlayStation Now Europe details announced.

The PlayStation 4 has sold 10m units worldwide, Sony has announced.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe boss Jim Ryan made the announcement on stage during Sony's Gamescom press conference. He stressed that 10m figure relates to consoles sold through to customers.

Yes I am very pleased with myself, thank you.

It's an impressive milestone for the PS4, and comes just nine months after the console launched in November 2013.

The PS4 is selling at a faster rate than its predecessor, and has outsold its competitor the Xbox One, which also launched in November 2013.

Meanwhile, Ryan announced that video game streaming service PlayStation Now will launch in Europe in 2015. The UK will be the first country in Europe to gain access to the beta, he added. PlayStation Now is currently in beta in the US.

We have firmer details on PlayStation TV, which launches in Europe on 14th November bundled with three games for €99.
