Greenlit action platformer No Time to Explain out now on Steam

Indie game about "time travel, jetpack guns and ribs in people's eyes" is 25 per cent off its first week.

No Time to Explain, a fast-paced action platformer about "time travel, jetpack guns and ribs in people's eyes" was released today on Steam after it was successfully greenlit by the community.

Prior to that, No Time to Explain was very successful on Kickstarter where it nearly quadrupled its $7000 goal. This was probably due to its excellent demo released on NewGrounds back in January 2011, though it didn't hurt that Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson personally donated $2000 to the project.

Developed by indie studio tinyBuildGames, No Time to Explain may not have one central gimmick, but based on the demo it seems very polished, and the trailer - below - suggests that later levels will switch up its mechanics a fair deal.

More than that, it's genuinely funny. In today's saturated market a game needs to grab your attention right away and No Time to Explain's brilliant opening of your future self declaring, "I am you from the future! There's no time to explain. Follow me to - Oh Christ!" before getting captured by a giant enemy crab, accomplishes in seven seconds what most games spend several minutes setting up.

No Time to Explain will ordinarily cost 6.99 / $9.99, but it's 25 per cent off until 1st February, bringing the price down to 5.24 / $7.49.
