Why bother mentioning X360 sales in Japan? Everyone know X360 doesn't sell, and indeed Japanese products almost always does proportionally better than westernised products in Japan.
Lots of reasons but I would suggest Japanese companies understand what Japanese wants better than others and how to sell in a country where what others think and like in the society matters. I m no expert but that my impressions.
I would counter that it's goddamn miraculous to sell regularly in low thousands for years when the console had no chance
The story here is 3DS and Vita, and I m loving my 3DS and preordered Vita and would want every success for both handhelds.

Which seems to me to indicate price cut helps but decent games help more.
Besides Vita is far more advanced than the 3DS and pricing them at the same level would be like pricing a PS3 against a Wii.
But come Feb 22nd i'll be enjoying playing it. It's not excatly top dollar compare it to most Smartphone prices of £400+ or even mental £40 a month contracts totally over £1000 for a phone good deal there.

The japanese prefer RPGs and such, so like when we see more Tales of Innocence R on Vita in Japan, then sales will start to take off. If we do see a price drop on Vita I don't think it will happen until a must have title hits, such as Monster Hunter, then sales of the game and console will push the Vita into the top spot.
I've got my Vita preordered and I'm relatively happy with the price of console and games, don't get me wrong, everyone would like some a bit cheaper than they'd have to pay.
My only true Negative with the Vita is the price of Memory cards, and the fact that only the Japanese get the 32 GB card.
Apart from that roll on 22nd February!!
