3DS is really taking a dump on everything else on that list eh!
  • NotSoSlim #3 3 weeks ago

Next week Ragnorak Odyssey (sp?) and then Gravitu Rush which had been getting rave reviews. They both could hit the 100k mark

Hey Fred Dutton, why on every chart article you do you always compaire Sony products? why never no talk of the 360 numbers? 1200 ouch!
  • FenderMaster #5 3 weeks ago

It's all about the software... As long as the hardware isn't original DS Fugly or original PS3 expensive, the software will sell the system.
  • vert1go #6 3 weeks ago

Good to see it maintaining a lead over the rest of the "filed".

    Chowyunfatt

Why bother mentioning X360 sales in Japan? Everyone know X360 doesn't sell, and indeed Japanese products almost always does proportionally better than westernised products in Japan.

Lots of reasons but I would suggest Japanese companies understand what Japanese wants better than others and how to sell in a country where what others think and like in the society matters. I m no expert but that my impressions.

I would counter that it's goddamn miraculous to sell regularly in low thousands for years when the console had no chance

The story here is 3DS and Vita, and I m loving my 3DS and preordered Vita and would want every success for both handhelds.

    @chowyunfatt

@chowyunfatt I think EG understands that no one enjoys reading, thinking or talking about anything which inludes XBOX. Just saying the word in your head lowers your IQ by about 2 points. Try it.
  • roz123 #11 3 weeks ago

@NotSoSlim I would be surprised if either game sells 50000
  • BigDannyH #12 3 weeks ago

It's like a Mexican standoff between Sony and the consumers expecting a 3DS style price drop.

Either that or they just really don't give a shit.

@Chompee @vert1go Sorry! Fixed. Basic English doesn't appear to be coming easy today.
  • Acquiescence #14 3 weeks ago

I'm sure if the Vita had its price slashed in half like the 3DS did, it would sell more than every other platform on that list put together. Anything can sell if it's cheap enough.
  • Gojiratron #15 3 weeks ago

Looks like the PSP sold less than the Vita rather than the Vita sold more than the PSP if you know what I mean.

    Vita need Monster Hunter,

Or how about a local co-op Demons/Dark Souls port? Any takers?

personally i'd have it in a flash.
  • Arwin #17 3 weeks ago

@Gojiratron Not really. Vita's numbers are higher than last week's PSP numbers as well, not just this week. And PSP's current sales are higher than last week's Vita sales, so if the Vita hadn't been up, they'd still be below PSP. /pedant
  • CaLeDee #18 3 weeks ago

I went ahead and ordered one because of the Amazon deal. 234 pounds for Vita, 8GB memory stick and a game. It will take a monster hunter release to give the Japanese sales a spike.
  • billy-beauts #19 3 weeks ago

@CaLeDee hmmmm Amazon deal you say?

    /goes to check

If only that deal included Uncharted!!! Will probaly get it anyway, with Lumines.

For those who gave me negative rating I am basing that on japanese preorder charts where RO is about half of what tales of innocence r was and that gravity game is not even charting

Wooah, I hope Armored Core 5 is as popular over here. Such a fun series, would be nice to take you lot on online.
  • damoxuk #24 3 weeks ago

For the tech involved Vita is a good deal. You sheep all seem to forget that when the 3DS got it's price cut sales rose but not drastcially. Only when it got the software in November did you see the massive sales spike.

Which seems to me to indicate price cut helps but decent games help more.

Besides Vita is far more advanced than the 3DS and pricing them at the same level would be like pricing a PS3 against a Wii.

But come Feb 22nd i'll be enjoying playing it. It's not excatly top dollar compare it to most Smartphone prices of £400+ or even mental £40 a month contracts totally over £1000 for a phone good deal there. :)

When Monster Hunter comes to the PSV the Japanese sales numbers wil explode...

As stated on most forums and on here quite a bit, the launch list for the Vita was very western gamer focused, so Europe and America will be mostly happy, as you can't please everyone, with the launch list.

The japanese prefer RPGs and such, so like when we see more Tales of Innocence R on Vita in Japan, then sales will start to take off. If we do see a price drop on Vita I don't think it will happen until a must have title hits, such as Monster Hunter, then sales of the game and console will push the Vita into the top spot.

I've got my Vita preordered and I'm relatively happy with the price of console and games, don't get me wrong, everyone would like some a bit cheaper than they'd have to pay.

My only true Negative with the Vita is the price of Memory cards, and the fact that only the Japanese get the 32 GB card.

Apart from that roll on 22nd February!!
