Wow, that's a huge list. Probably buy the game now :)

Was anything working in the original?
  • kangarootoo #3 1 year ago

Finally. So I can play it now. Any significant risk of losing saves is no good in an hour hungry RPG like FO.
  • Nanocrystal #4 1 year ago

Glad they fixed Oh My Papa, that quest screwed up big-time on my first playthrough. Still, I'm gonna wait for the GotY editions before I play this again.

"Bethesda's"? They handed Obsidian an engine and a bunch of assets. It's Obsidian's game.
  • ubergine #6 1 year ago

Instead of that huge list they could have said "fixes every aspect of game."
  • slickster #7 1 year ago

why the f**k do they release games with so many bugs. just fill for people who got the game but no internet.
  • DUFFMAN5 #8 1 year ago

fookin ell, thank god I have yet to start it, prob still be unplayed until next year, still good to have the fixes in place.

    PC next week?! Arghh!!!!

But I see quite an extensive list of quests actually fixed. Friggin' about time. You've gotta love the community that worked for free as guinea pigs (aka beta testers) and hunted as many bugs they could.

I guess they're on a tight schedule, slickster, although Obsidian are hardly renowned for releasing bug-free games. If only DLC and patches were as prevalent when they released KOTOR2.

........and to think EG gave it a 9 before all these fixes.
If they re-review it now will it get a 10?, or if EDGE review it again will they give it higher than 6?

I stopped playing around the 15 hour mark, because of problems and also a friend telling me his 50+ hours save files had been corrupted if all these fixes work im ready to start wondering the wastelands again.

That's a pretty long list. I'm still going to wait until I hear from players that the game works rather than simply trusting Bethesda's assessment of the game, after all they said Failout 3 worked without issue despite it having a pretty major memory leak, like every other GameBryo game.

Stuff like this makes you wonder if there is even a point to QA Testing anymore as the developers have clearly ignored them throughout the project and gone ahead with an alpha level release. There's no way QA could possibly have missed all of this, especially considering that some of the bugs in question probably existed in Fallout 3, Oblivion or even Morrowind.

Impressive patch, but still a shame it was released in an unfinished state. Plus Medical Mystery, the only quest that's broken for me, isn't on the list as fixed bugs.
  • Skire #15 1 year ago

    Oh it's actually playable now?

Seriously though, I don't understand why people still buy broken products like this.
  • danathjo #16 1 year ago

Hurrah! We can all start playing again!
  • arty #17 1 year ago

Never had any problems playing it in the first place.
  • slickster #18 1 year ago

Just tryed it with the new patch and it still locks up and freezes.
  • Ranger101 #19 1 year ago

Enough with the "it's not Bethesda, it's Obsidian!" nonsense - Bethesda are the publisher and they are as much responsible for the release of the game and the quality it was released in as Obsidian. Bethesda could have taken the business decision not to release until all this was fixed. Bethesda took the decision to fund the bug-fixes etc. They're both responsible, Bethesda moreso from a business and marketing perspective.

I finished the game on PC:

    80 hours
    78 quests solved
    160 speechchecks
    180 locations discovered

I had to use console three times to get around a bug.
Game crashed about 10 times in total.
I used several mods (slower levelling, nevada skies, darnified UI).

I will definitely replay the game when all DLCs are out. Great to see Obsidian supporting the game like this - Bethesda never gave proper treatment to Fallout 3, in which nearly every quest can get bugged as well.

Next week, huh? Almost time to buy it then...
  • Daeltaja #22 1 year ago

40 hours in, will start playing this again now. It got to the point where loading screens were taking 1-2minutes.. no other major bugs but the performance started taking a big hit. Just in time for the DLC, yipee.
  • makeamazing #23 1 year ago

I think if you want it and havent purchased it yet, now could be the time, especially as its £20.
  • peppergomez #24 1 year ago

My god, I pity the fool who has already bought and tried to play this game.

Lol, 9 negs. Must be doing something right!

    70 hours over 2 saves.

2 freezes and no problems completing any quests.

I think I was lucky , save for some crashes I didn't have any probs on the pc version, completed it and I have a lot of hours clocked on my second playthrough.
I did write a little script to backup my savefiles every time I quit the game but didn't face any corruption. :)

ps Lovely game, anyone who hasn't yet, give it a go!
  • drhickman1983 #27 1 year ago

Awesome, just in time for me to get this at Christmas.
  • Judas_Priest #28 1 year ago

150hrs on one playthough I've had about 11 crashes and 3 quests broken, the worst being Oh My Papa, other than that the game was/is still fantastic pre-patch. My version is the 360 version.
  • Phishfood #29 1 year ago

I am quite tempted to buy this now but from my experience with Fallout 3 and Borderlands I can be sure they are going to release an Ultimate Edition of this game later on with all DLC bundled.
  • trip919 #30 1 year ago

Can you repair my broken memories Obsidian? Can you fuck!

    /I still love you regardless

/although it is getting to the levels of the eternally abused housewife

  • RazorObsession #31 1 year ago

Hardcore mode, 130 hours in, 5 crashes, 2 bugged quests, both quests that gave me the option of receiving power armour training.

Had to go stealth high crit assassin because of it, but it forced me down a legitimate playing style path I may have glossed over otherwise.

Testament to the freedom of choice you have in the game. Replay assured with patch.
