No new episode for FFXIII - Square

Publisher clarifies earlier reports.

Square Enix has denied reports that the Ultimate Hits International edition of Final Fantasy XIII, which will bring the game to Japanese 360s for the first time, features new content.

"There is no new episode content," a Square Enix spokesperson told Eurogamer.

"Early reports may be confused by a pre-order item accompanying first editions of the release called Final Fantasy XIII: Corridor of Memory, a book of original stories set within Final Fantasy XIII."

So there we have it. With the other aspects of the new version being the Western voiceover and Leona Lewis theme song, the book is the only thing we Westerners are missing out on.

No, what happened is you churned a piece from VG247, who in turn churned a piece form Andriasang, where Anoop had made a translation error. It's the ame as you reprinting that story about FFXIV where the Square translator didn't know the difference between RAM and drive space. It's just plain lazy.

You also missed 'easy mode' in your list of additions to the 360 version there.

This is all "journalism" is nowadays. Steal the news from someone else and reprint it as your own.

Then look like complete dicks when you fuck up. Ahahaa.

And this is what happens when you post baseless, mistranslated bits of gossip and rumour as news, especially so when you pinch it from someone else: balls up all-round.

Cool, a book that contains original stories within the world of FFXIII!

Now I can read other entertaining tales of a cunt with a chocobo in his hair, and I can find out more about whatever the fuck a l'Cie is, whatever the fuck a fal'Cie is and other made up things that are shite like how one character is actually a opasigfapwone, which is like a l'Cie but with a Brummie accent!

Why anyone would want extra content for this game is beyond me. It was complete and utter...

You haters do know that no one forces you to use this website if you don't like how they do things?

    Also FFXIII was !"£$

    Whitster:

The problem is that people then take this stuff as the truth and bring it up time and time again.

So the original Japanese version of FFXIII didn't feature Leona Lewis song? Or should I say, 'song some people wrote for her'.

I'm not sure Japanese gamers were missing out there...

Note to Square Enix: During production of the next FF, please don't decide to include a shitty manufactured pop song. I have never met anyone who would play a series like FF, who likes such crap. The cringe worthy ballad during the Squall/Rinoa scene in FFVIII was bad enough.

    What next? Cheryl Cole? Westlife?

Can't say I care. FFXIII was very disappointing.

Currently playing (if you can call it that) through FFXIII at the moment and i can't see why anybody would want anymore episodes for this game anyway. Seriously, I'm on the last disc and i am just having to force myself through to the end, out of some kind of loyalty to previous (actually fun and interesting to play) FF games. The story is nonsense, the characters are ridiculous and so two dimensional it's painful. The day they decided to put voice acting into FF games really was the day the series died.

Well time to finish the last boss fight..... Somehow i just can't put myself to it though. The Battle system becomes weary after the... well full functions only are there after 20 hours... so after 15-20 hours ''after'' the lengty tutorial i guess?

    Better brush your Japanese up.

Thank you for not releasing DLC but simply one complete game. Thank you. Freaking download madness.

FFXIII was the last I bought and the last Square game I shall ever play. It felt like someone replaced my minty toothpaste with dogshit.

I thought Leona Lewis' song was the best thing about FFXIII. But maybe I'm not weeaboo enough.
  • spekkeh #18 1 year ago

This game should not have downloadable extra content, but downloadable less content. If I could download an update that would turn the game into a ten-hour corridor romp, I would've enjoyed it a lot more. I would even pay for it, because I'm still sort of interested in how it ends.

I thought Leona Lewis' song was the best thing about FFXIII.

There are a hundred and one reasons why this is wrong, but I'm so flabbergasted I can't put any of them into words.

EDIT: Although, given the quality of the game, the story and the dialogue and the characters, I guess it depends how you look at it.
