New PSP has touch-sensitive controls

Roarer

Touch screen on the back is a great idea - your fingers won't cover the screen. Whether it will be comfortable or accurate remains to be seen, but I like the idea.

As for digital distribution only - it's the future, so deal with it. Digital is in its infany and no one has worked out a truly successfull business modell- But give the guys a chance. It's naive to think that we'll see some kind of price monopoly with static prices and no sales. Just look at Steam - everything will eventually drop in price and I'm sure we'll see a variety of pricing models. Remember that DD requires no stock, no risk in of manufacturing physical things you can't move once it's stuck in the channel and on the whole, a greater oppertunity for risk-taking.

Castlevania Judgment

Roarer

Yeah, looks good, but really, where's my Castlevania puzzler/point-and-click/adventure-game utilizing the Wii Remote?

(And no, a traditional Castlevania action-game would not work well on the way. At least not if you want to swing the whip using motion controls, that would be waaay to tiring)l

Guitar Hero in 'capable hands' - Harmonix CEO

Roarer

Actually, I think Guitar Hero II IS more fun. The note patterns are much better, more involving and more logical. Hard mode is a nice balance between being fun and challenging.

Though I'll admit that the tracklist is a lot worse in GHII (on the other hand, it is also more diverse, which is good. If only they'd cut some of those painfully bad and unfun songs [Psychobilly Freakout, Madhouse, Message in a Bottle etc)

Activision enigmatic on Nintendo offerings

Roarer

Uh, well, there is already a 'Guitar Training' of sorts for the DS in Japan. You use the touch-screen to strum the strings and select cords with the D-pad.

An evolved and improved, more game like version of that could work I guess.
(But something tells me I'd rather play Ouendan/Elite Beat Agents...)

Level 5's new DS game

Roarer

"the game stars Professor Reiton (Layton), an English chap, and a young schoolboy called Luke."

Shouldn't that be Ruke (Luke) then? :-P

Game sounds awesome though. Art style looks like a mix between Hergé, Per Åhlin and whoever did The Triplettes of Belleville.

"FFXIII - I doubt it. FFXII just came out after all."

Heh, I remember when Square announced three new Final Fantasy games (IX, X and XI) at the same time. Was probably less than a year after VIII was released. All three of them were released within 4 years too!

I want to make sweet love to this game all night.

Soon time to dust off the old 'Cube then, and prepare for a major onslaught of great games. Coming up first will be Metroid Prime: Echoes, and then I'll move on to Pikmin 2 and Paper Mario2, followed by this, Tales of Symphonia and Viewtiful Joe 2. And to be frank, no other console can match that line-up right now.

- "Hey Dave, we need some promotional screeshots for this game we're working on."

- "Oh man, I can't be bothered with that shit. I'm, uh, working. Yes, you may notice that my screen is showing pictures of scantly clad ladies and various barnyard animlas, but I can assure you that I am working. In fact, I'm trying to come up with new ideas for our game. (Hehe, sucker.)"

- "Er, whatever. Just keep on pressing print-screen every now and then when you do some playtesting. I'm convinced our game is so good that every single frame will contain so much action and excitment that we don't need interesting camera angles or even actual things happening on the screen! Brilliant!"

- "Yeah, sure, whatever. I think I'll go and "playtest" some of my new ideas now by the way. See ya!"

Viewtiful Joe 2 stripped of co-op mode

Roarer

Blerk: I'm not too fond of fighting games either, but I absolutely love Viewtiful Joe. It's nowhere near as fast as a traditional fighter, and it relies more on strategic movements rather than thumb-blistering attacks.

On the other hand, you will face some horribly difficult bosses which might turn you off... (me though, I weep tears of joy at the prospect of spending the better part of a weekend trying to beat an oversized rhino wielding a giant axe, but I'm just weird like that)
