Now if only BAFTAs could be awarded for great articles on Eurogamer. Really good read, and a proper bit of heartwarming.

Nothing more enjoyable than a well-informed ramble sometimes! I look forward to annoying chess folk who look down their noses at me, a gamer, by telling them that their game got patched in the Middle Ages.

@GoldenFrog I run ED and its expansion on a craptop, and it looks fantastic. The base game will pretty much run on a scientific calculator, to be fair.
I was using a 360 controller to begin with, and it was fine. I got carried away drunk shopping and bought a HOTAS, but that's another story.

@LordanSS For what it's worth, I'm in the EU and sometimes my jumps take over 40 secs. Let's not go into the delay opening the system map. (I do still enjoy ED a bit too much though).

Satellite Reign review

Immaterial

Bought it, am playing it. Nothing beats the feeling of a carefully planned stealthy raid going to ratshit, because your team WILL get swarmed if they bstay put to shoot it out.

I think I've only seen a couple of pathfinding issues in seven hours of play, but I may be showing some selective bias as I'm enjoying this far more than its price would suggest.

World of Warcraft, nine years later: Can I get a res?

Immaterial

Started in the last few months of BC (noob that I am), dropped out at the start of cata, came back in at the fag end of MoP, and now am having far too much fun in WoD.
If my adoption pattern continues, I'll drop out at the end of WoD and miss another expansion.

I really must get over my altoholism.

I might just actually throw some money at this kickstarter, because it looks good,  and because a number of other fools have parted with their shekels for it.

Arma 3 campaign delayed due to development "difficulties"

Immaterial

It's going to hit their review scores, that's for sure.

I've always played through the SP campaign that comes with ARMA (well, ARMA 2 was a bit buggy), going all the way back to OFP, so I'll miss it at launch.

That said, I've really enjoyed the MP in the alpha- some extremely good user-made MP missions out there already, and if there's enough SP stuff in the release version to let me play with the new toys then I'm moderately happy.

Hope the extra time is going to be enough for them to put more resources in play to make the finished campaign a great piece of work.

Arma 3 beta released

Immaterial

blimey,  don't rile the arma faithful. The beta is lovely,  with loads of user created content already.  I 've spent far too long hiding in bushes or waiting for heli transport on co-op missions already,  even before the official release to consider this anything other than an excellent pre-order bonus.

SWTOR: BioWare warns against creating characters on high population servers

Immaterial

"Character transfer is a common request for these servers. The ability to transfer your characters is being worked on, but there is no ETA on when it will be available."

Seeing as how this is a nice and steady cash cow for Blizzard, I'm surprised that there wasn't major commercial pressure for this to be a launch feature.
