Devil Survivor 2 will release in Europe after reaching the pre-order goal set by its publisher.
UK publisher Ghostlight had asked for help getting the niche DS role-player on these shores, calling for 1800 pre-orders via its website by 30th August to ensure manufacturing.
Ghostlight blamed "challenges faced in the current retail sector" for why the cult sequel could not be published via traditional means, "despite support from many retailers".
UK publisher Ghostlight has asked for help getting niche DS role-player Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 released in Europe.
A fortnight ago publisher Ghostlight announced the European release date for Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor: Overclocked, a 3DS remake of the 2009 DS cult-hit Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor. Understandably, fans have been asking about its sequel, the DS-exclusive Devil Survivor 2, which was released in Japan in 2011 and in North America in early 2012.
Two titles in Atlus' long-running Shin Megami Tensei JRPG series have just been confirmed for a European release, courtesy of publisher Ghostlight.
Devil Survivor Overclocked is a 3DS remake of 2009 DS effort Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor, in which you'll be attempting to save Tokyo from a demonic invasion. The 3DS version adds a new chapter, full voice acting and remastered visuals.
Ghostlight is also bringing over that game's DS sequel, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2, originally released in Japan last July.
