To further confuse things, I've been playing this all afternoon on the PS3 and I completely agree with the 7/10 score.
The first few hours are pretty damn good, but the platforming sections once you get the ability to switch between worlds quickly become a chore. Some are just plain infuriating, and not like Rayman Origins where it's a good kind of difficult.
Had to take a break after a big platforming section climbing a tree thing as my right hand resembled a claw from mashing X and R2.
Looking good. Couldn't ever get into Uncharted, just didn't interest me in the slightest. So hoping this is good so I can enjoy some of ND's recent work.
Hope the storytelling is up to scratch given their rants in the past! Reply-22
Looking pretty terrible. Weirdly it's a slightly different clip than the one that surfaced a few days ago on the net.
The gameplay was still the same, but it had some of the worst voice acting I've ever seen. Fingers crossed this isn't too representative of the final game... Reply+18
After dealing with Acer's support department recently about a ICS update for my work a101 tablet I wouldn't touch their products with a barge pole.
Asked a direct question and got referred to a FAQ about how to upgrade my tablet when I'd already said that showed no updates available, but a colleagues tablet was a newer version of HC, yet mine won't auto update. They avoided that question as well and just copied and pasted the FAQ response into their support ticket. Completely useless.
@morvilleo Thought Dave Cook actually gave quite a good account of himself. At least he had the balls to stand up, say sorry and be IMO honest and genuine about it.
Considering how Lauren has handled it, much like Rab said, Dave seems like a good bloke Reply+9
Oh dear EG. At least stick up for your writers and stand by what you publish. Poor show by Tom for giving it the green light in the first place. IMO they need to reinstate Rab, say sorry for being such pussies and put the original article back up. If you don't have the journalistic integrity to stand by your content and authors then you don't have much. Reply+39
As a studio SK doesn't seem to be able to do much right do they? Amazing that they're still in business given the current economic climate and their inability to produce games of the calibre they're clearly capable of. Very weird. Reply+4
Office challenge for the most amount of paragraphs starting with "It's in the..." possible??
Aside from that good review! Skipped the witcher 2 as my PC wasn't quite up to the task. Makes sense for me just to get it on the 360 now rather than upgrading my PC Reply+11
@IvorB wow only 2 stars due to a small volume bug when using GSM networks? At least it's been fixed now, makes you wonder what score they'd give to the iPhone4 with the grip of death problem.
At least EG now says which version it's reviewing, so that's more than most other major gaming websites etc. Glad I don't do much PS3 gaming, it's my last resort, my 360/PC take preference due to problems like that seem to plague the PS3 every now and then... Reply-1
Bethesda really should have known better TBH. Even if they properly acknowledged that the fix wasn't enough and that they were now diverting resources to investigate the best workaround that'd be better than nothing!
50hrs into the PC version though and it's all good on that! Reply+1
Considering the amount of funding they've got from the Canadian government according to wikipedia they're turning into a bit of a joke. Taking a few million dollars every year or so and most recently 3 million in July of this year! Making all sorts of promises that they're failing on pretty impressively.
If I was a taxpayer in Canada I'd be pretty pissed TBH Reply+1
Considering how buggy Alpha Protocol was I think Obsidian could easily take the most buggy developer crown from Piranha Bytes (Gothic developer)
Think they're on damage control a bit, but it's more than possible that most of the good devs now work elsewhere :( sad news for adventure fans if that's the case.... Reply+1
Got the original one kicking about for the 360, don't the patches resolve any of the hideous gameplay problems you guys are talking about? Trying to work out if I should bother giving it a try or not... Reply0
After spending the night with RB2 and GH:WT I have to agree with all the other WTF?!?! type comments. GT:WT is pretty laughable compared to RB2, even taking the arguable better instruments into account (still prefer the RB guitar despite it's short comings). So collective slaps for all the EG staff that obviously got some free GH:WT gear for charting it above RB2.
After a few hours with LBP I don't think it deserves the top spot.... Sure it's nice and all that, but no where near as ground breaking as everyone seems to make out Reply0
I'm soooo glad it sucks as much as it looked like it would.
Installed it the other day, endured with the continual "this area needs to be downloaded" till I'd downloaded all the areas. So, to play any of the games like bowling or arcades, you have to queue?? WTF?!?
Anyone how to uninstall it so I can get the 3gb back this POS takes up? Reply0
