I don't know why, but this game hasn't bitten me like the others did for online play (the single player was a vast improvement over 3, but not a patch on BC2)

I'm not saying its bad, in fact I enjoy it, but more often than not I choose BF3 in the evening when I want a quick blast.

I wonder what dice are making next in this series?

  • Tio 02/08/2013

    True Story....
Blizzard 'sold' my level 60 characters name, because I hadn't played the account for a couple of years. I found out when I went to renew my subscription. After weeks of argueing they refuse to give me back the name I made on 'day one' of WoW (On Arget Dawn RP server)

I will never play a Blizzard game again

If you value your names of any characters, you need to not let the account go idle for more than 2 years or the names can be 'free'd up' even if the character is a high level

  • Tio 01/03/2012

I agree with a lot of the comments here. 6 - 10 hours in, I have lost all interest. I am skipping dialogue and running to the circles on the map (that denote quest locations) killing something/talking to someone. Then fast travelling back. The combat was initially very exciting, however now I never mix it up, I just stuck with the basic sword move as I have created a sword(blacksmithing) which is "all powerful" making the game too easy.

Hopefully this is the start of a new IP , and the future entries will get better

  • New Blizzard MMO won't replace WoW

  • Tio 28/10/2010

@SAMagic... I agree entirely and popular or unpopular it makes business sense. I am not saying its going to be easy but think about it. 11 million WoW players giving them 8 per month (ish). A new MMO which lets face it would be massively successful on any format, launches on the PC , lets be honest how many NEW subscribers will that get them?. I accept some players would subscribe to both, but a lot of the 'new MMO' players would be ex WoW players, hence no 'REAL' increase in revenue, or at the least a small increase in revenue.

Now how many XBOX, PS3 players have a current WoW account ( I do) , but in reality probably not many have both and are paying to both, so therefore a new MMO designed with consoles in mind and targeted at console players would bring in NEW subscribers and MORE new subscribers.

Guys I know PC gamers are very protective of Blizzard ( and rightly so) but think about the business side, and it makes perfect sense. Its a Holy Grail for MMO designers to tap into the console market for MORE subcribers.

  • Tio 28/10/2010

From a business standpoint, they have to be thinking consoles. Like it or not its probably the best to make the most money.

Much fewer WoW ship jumpers (already getting cash from those), a whole new customer base to explore, and with expansions keep the existing one's playing WoW . No EQ1+2 customer base splitting this way (well less so)

I am excited for it , but I would like to stay clean so I wont buy it.

It isnt like other games, I can play any other game and just turn it off when I feel like I want to, or if the wife needs me. There is something about WoW that triggers something in my mind like no other game, all night raiding looking for mats for something really strange.

The other thing is, when I play that game no other game gets a look in , nothing at all. I am playing Oblivion atm yeah I know late to the party (superb game btw). Now last night I fancied a game of Reach so I stuck that on instead , not with WoW every gaming moment is swallowed up.

I realize the problem is with me though, and for all those players who can control how much they play it for, I am genuinely jealous , as you get to play a superb game but still retain freedom.

  • Tio 16/07/2010

I will definitely get neg marks

However they will do it, from a business standpoint I can see the appeal to them , now they need to make it appeal to us.

Maybe 1.99 per month to play on their servers with no lag and new maps every month and new weapons and outfits etc , events for easter/Christmas/new year etc , but also offer a totally free service like the current system where play is on someones system.

Guys ...be honest ..how many 'free' MMO's are out there yet WoW still have 12 mill plus subscribers.

"I already pay for xbox subs, I aint paying more" ...I understand that statement but you will pay more we all do in the end.

I paid for a TV, then I paid more for SKY , then I paid more for movies and sports , then I paid more for HD, then I paid more for PPV events .

As someone said already if you want something you will pay for it, and I believe ( I dont want to myself) people WILL pay for the prestige of playing on the main servers and tournaments and maps etc.

  • Tio 11/03/2010

I am not trying to jump on the BF:BC2 bandwagon , but...I was talked into buying it at the weekend and initially thought to myself what is all the fuss about, I was being killed left right and centre, and on MW2 I was at least able to hold my own (ish), After a few hours play and STILL being completely shit, I realized one thing ..all the time when playing BF:BC2 i was ENJOYING it , however bad I was it is just a lot more fun than MW2.

Yesterday I got FF13 for 4 after trading in MW2 (thanks gamestation, and price matching Asda), in fact I got close to the same money back that I paid for the game originally.

So I wont be buying the mappack, and I am sure others will soon realize there is a premium trade in value on this MW2 still and some other great games to replace it with.
