Can you imagine a mix of destruction derby and twisted metal weapon pick ups in an open world battleground?

    Would be interesting.

Surprised that the single player update doesn't give you any reward for finishing a series. It would have been nice to get a car out of it. After playing some of the single player, it is too easy to win, although you can give yourself a challenge with a less powerful car.

The online racing in this is superb and far more enjoyable. You can get whacked off the track by the odd idiot but just love the immersiveness and unpredictability of it all. Just so much more enjoyable than having A.I. driving.

As Oli has said, I don't want to go back to the old GT anymore. The driving is so much fun with upto 20 cars on the track and the sense of speed is better than it ever has been.

  • Gibroon 01/03/2017

That is one crazy deal. My kids have been playing overwatch a lot recently, so much so they have taken over the TV and living room for weeks now and even my wife is getting a bit fed up with it. Managed to reserve the deal in my local Argos. I wasn't going to bother with Horizon until it was a bit cheaper and I had finished Witcher 3 that I started this week but this deal will get me the game earlier than expected.

  • Turning Your Android Phone into a Retro Gaming Powerhouse

  • Gibroon 06/12/2011

I got an Xperia Play earlier this year and have been loving it so far. Although I have dabbled in a few retro games, I much prefer playing the newer games that are out there, some of which cost peanuts or are free.

I'm currently playing Galaxy of Fire 2 which is free to play and a more than adequate Elite clone. Slick graphics, nice menus, blueprints to manufacture. wingmen to fly with etc. Retro is nice but there is a lot of new stuff which is fresher and more intriguing imo.

  • Diablo 3 "feels better" with a game pad

  • Gibroon 23/09/2011

With a game like Diablo, using an analogue stick for character movement has a far better feel and gives you more control then constantly clicking to move somewhere imo. I can see the point about ranged attacks not being quite so accurate though.

So long as they don't dumb down the stats and skill trees. Dungeon Seige 3 was quite enjoyable but the lack of skills was obviously aimed too much towards consoles.

Definately pick this up later on. This is one of the very few games I'm interested in the 3D. Some of the vistas and viewpoints of both games are truly spectacular. Very glad they made a HD remake of these games, the choppy framerate and blurry graphics will now be rectified even though I loved them both on the PS2. Reply 0

Having just watched some of the videos of LBP2 Beta, I am gob smacked at the possibilities of this game. I can understand that not all people are going to create levels but you have to give a big hand to Media Molecule for making this kind of game(s) possible.

Looking forward to this a lot.

Played a bit of this in the afternoon and can't wait till the missus goes to bed to so I can play more. I love the weight of the controls, the sounds of the guns and the destruction that can be had from guns to tanks. Although it is 4 months away, I'm willing to skip MW2 due to the more open structure of the maps in BC2.

    Great stuff!

  • Exclusive: LittleBigPlanet Expert's Guide - Level Design

  • Gibroon 08/10/2008

Although I would agree that the majority of people who get the game will not publish a level, the game is extremely inspiring to others.

I probably won't have the time to make to many levels but once you start playing around with the editor and playing other user generated levels, you start to see possibilities and get ideas that you would put into a level.

Playing this online with a few pals is great fun and it's just an incredibly charming game.

    "some possible graphical improvements"

That made me snigger, nobody is going to dare hype a game on the PS3 after Haze.

sorry for the misquote, it is true that people are buying the PS3 regardless of all it's faults due to the playstation brand. The majority of purchasers really aren't as clued up as forumites and will buy not really knowing what is coming up.

A friend of mine who is into gaming in a fairly big way, hadn't seen any footage of LBP until I showed him recently, therefore he isn't bothered about the continual delays. The same could be said about Home, which is a feature I wasn't really bothered about when I got my PS3, I would rather have the elusive in-game XMB.

  • Gibroon 09/05/2008

A lot of what he said is quite true, I have had my PS3 from (almost) launch and there has been a load of delays, LBP, Killzone2, Home, Haze and others. When I bought my PS3 I certainly didn't believe the hype of the PS3. I felt it was very similar to the 360 in terms of power but the all in one box approach is what I liked about it(less cables for add-ons etc).

I think it was morriss who said in another thread that if the 360 had been more reliable, it probably would have thrashed the PS3 up to now. It certainly would have got my money.

For all it's trouble with delays and port problems, I really enjoy my PS3 which is what really gets on my tits about all this "my console is better than yours shit". The fact is, I'm enjoying my PS3 and a MS rep having a dig at Sony is not going to suddenly make me decide all my games are shit and I'm not enjoying myself. XBL is far better integrated than PSN, there is no doubt about it and Sony are going to be hard pushed to get anywhere close to it but at the moment, it is does a job.

  • Gibroon 03/04/2008

The perks and upgrades definitely make COD4 stand out. It is still a very generic game and enjoyable, unless you don't like FPS. Reply 0
  • Gibroon 03/04/2008

Most FPS are generic in their very nature but it does help to have a few stand out moments that make it different from the others. I'm a bit worried that there will not be enough variation in characters and a lack of Big Boss Battles for the masse. Mind you CoD4 has none of these either and is very popular so I hope people don't expect massive purple aliens turning up in Haze cos it ain't going to happen.
I'm mostly looking forward to the co-op options in the game but the gameplay is where it really needs to be good.

The hype or anti-hype for this game is always going to make the reviews a bit awkward. If it gets the same treatment that RFOM and ends up being 6 or 7's in reviews it should still be an enjoyable game.

The whole pushing up against a wall is a pain in the arse. I would far prefer the usual standard these days of pressing a button to stick to a wall or cover. Too many times I've been kicked off cover with a slightly too heavy push on the analogue stick. It is just too damn fiddly at times. Reply 0

  • Gibroon 22/12/2007

I'm not sure if I'll pick this up when it comes out in March. There may be too many other games to choose around the same time.

Sounds like a good game though and loved the original UT. Personally I think UT3 is different from both COD4 and Warhawk in gameplay, so I wouldn't have a problem owning all three. The problem is with Haze and Killzone2 coming out around about the same time, will people have the cash to spend after Christmas?

At least this game stops the talk of PS3 being graphically inept compared to the 360. ;)

I'm quite glad of the score because I read somewhere it got a 3/10 but not from a major reviewer. It may have been the difficulty but not sure really.

A 7 is quite good and I'm tempted to buy it now.

Its a pity it seems so short and that alone will put people off but its also a reason its getting lower than expected scores. If the game was longer it would have received higher scores, so the game play must be pretty good.

As for spending £40 on it, do any of you ever do trade ins?

My copy of rainbow 6 is going to be gathering dust because of warhawk.

I'll probably get £25 for it so job's a good 'un, Heavenly sword for me.

  • GTA IV better on 360 - Rockstar

  • Gibroon 26/07/2007

I do hope that the release version of GTAIV will have enough content for 360 and PS3
    owners to enjoy the game.

If the DVD capacity stops this game from being as large as the last 3 GTA's, then it would seem that MS payed R* to keep the game the same size as the PS3 version (there is no doubt there would have been more content on Blu-ray disc) and with the downloadable content make it that bit bigger than the PS3 version. Its a smart move by MS to make it look as though the Blu-ray is unnecessary for next gen gaming.

I read somewhere that Sony told Rockstar to take the money MS were offering because of their financial difficulties. Whether that is true or not I don't know.

Although GTA is a huge franchise it seems Sony are willing to lose some exclusives
because they are focusing on new game projects to specifically take advantage of the PS3. Sony may see it as $50 million they have saved which they can spend on new IP's.

I'm sure this game will be big enough for PS3 and Xbox owners without the extra content. I personally have never got 100% complete on any of the GTA's usually because my attention gets drawn to other games.

Stop the flaming enjoy the gaming.

Syphon Filter was absolutely brilliant when it came out. Great level design and gameplay. Why don't they make games like that anymore or was it just because back then they were cutting edge(rose tinted glasses).

Wipeout was another classic but think i'll wait for the PS3 version to come out

Hope they all cheaper than a pint of beer.
