I miss the days when Nintendo made awesome home consoles. They should have just made a true successor to the awesome Gamecube. The N64 was brilliant too. Ahh. The sweet smell of nostalgia. Reply0
I actually really liked Bioshock 2. It did quite a few things better than the first. Wider variety of plasmids and weapons. Better combat. The exploration was better too. Reply+2
FFX was one of my favorite games of last gen. X-2 wasn't quite as good but still very enjoyable. I look forward to playing them again with Trophy support. Reply+2
Amazing review and excellent comments too guys. I'm not sure I understand the hate for Dawn of War series from some commenters though. I thought DoW II in particular was the best strategy game of its year of release, 2009. Comparing it to Starcraft is a classic case of apples and oranges. Reply+3
Butcher Bay is one of the few games from the PS2-Xbox-GC era that I'll never banish from my collection. I rate it as probably the 2nd best title on the console after KOTOR. I don't think I've ever been as surprised by a game as I was when I first played BB back in August 2004. I expected a solid movie tie-in; it turned out to be one of the best games of its generation. I'd really like to see more Riddick games in the future. All has been quiet from Vin and Starbreeze in that regard though. Reply0
Must admit this article came straight out of leftfield for me. I'd say the influence Christopher Nolan has on video games is at best tenuous and at worst non-existent. Strange article. Reply0
It doesn't give me any pleasure to hear that these employees have their lost jobs, but I feel like they deserve it for releasing so many poor games. Am actually surprised the Eurocom studio has managed to outlast studios who produced consistently excellent games, like Bizarre creations. Reply-2
I've played and beaten the campaign on Professional and, honestly, I think it's a rental or bargain bin pickup. You can plough through it all in about 10 hours. I'm a series veteran so I didn't have much trouble with it, but there might be a learning curve to overcome if you're new to Hitman. There's just not enough content there to justify a £40 purchase in my opinion. Reply0
In case you guys didn't know, theres a glitch that lets you acquire infinite Souls using the Dragon's Head. It's a bit complicated but google it. It works :) Reply0
Simon isn't afraid to give honest scores to major titles. I applaud him hugely for that. Didn't he give Gears 3 and Uncharted 3 8 out of 10s when most sites were giving them 10? I remember richlemar and CliffyB (lead designer on UC3 and Gears 3 respectively) actually releasted statements criticising Simon's reviews for those games. That was amusing. Wonder if we'll see similar sentiments from a Capcom developer. Reply+28
It's all well and good saying a novice programmer can code a game in their bedroom and get noticed. Thing is, making blockbuster games requires a team of hundreds of people, thousands of man hours and millions of dollars. Why would anyone want to play a basic game someone made in their bedroom when they could play Call of Duty or Halo instead? To define that as a David v Goliath task would be an understatement.
Notch did it with Minecraft, but that's an exceedinly rare exception. Reply0
It doesn't feel like 8 years since SA came out. I remember that I had the disc in my PS2 drive from the day it came out up until early October 2005, so just shy of a full year. I absolutely loved every second of it. Loved the bikes, cars, planes and helicopters. Awesome soundtrack too. Just edges out Vice City as the best in the series for me. Reply-4

One of my dumbest gaming purchases. I just could not believe an MMO made by Bioware would turn out to be such a disappointment. Reply +2
