Bah, can't invert left/right so I ended up doing huge confusing turns to go where I wanted.

Unplayable :(

IIRC it's Bizarre's own take on a Fight Club thingy.

No, it's a time based shooter challenging you to kill people in combos while getting through a level in the fastest time possible.

You run through a prison shooting guys, trying to rack up a high score, with a combo meter, and extra points for stylish kills.

But as I'm useless with the camera, it's not that fun for me :( Graphics are hot, though.

Love the close-up shakycam when you start sprinting.

Gears of War did that over a year ago.

Since I don't have a PS3 I haven't played the demo, but from reading previews, it sounds like it could get very boring very quickly.

this seems to be getting alot of nay sayers, i've just had a quick bash on it and i found it to be intuitive and fun, you can't invert left and right? why would you want to? do you wear clothes backwards?

perfectly easy buy for me.

also. if i was going to call it anything, i'd say it was a 3rd person shooter version of twisted metal with PGR elements.

It's a bit awkward and clumsy for me.
I still like it, maybe it's 'cos you can only choose the slowest and heaviest guy in the demo that it handles badly.

It's a bit slow, and the ability to take cover would add a lot to the game. I hope there's a first person option in there, I found the guy only gets in the way.

So far, a bit clumsy, but as KILLA said, could be because we only get to play the slowest and heaviest guy. Didn't really find the aiming to be very precise.

More of a personal gripe, that one. It's how I play Warhawk, and I just can't work with it the other way :)

Loving it. PGR with guns.
A real challenge to get the target score on anything but easy.

I think someone is confusing "The Club" with "The Agency".

I've been playing this demo for an hour or so, and it's really great, in the exact way that PGR is great. It's simply slick well-put-together, with an ingenious combo system and score attack gameplay which is naturally compulsive and exciting.

The game itself feels very much like a driving game mixed in with Tony Hawk-style trickery, with a healthy amount of enemy blasting. In each mode, you have to survive while meeting the score target. Score is gained through kills, with the exact score per kill being determined by the type of enemy, the difficulty, the distance and the location of the shot, with the most coming for multiple consecutive headshots. These are then put together with a time-based multiplier for your score. The multiplier goes down with time; the higher the multiplier, the sooner it starts draining away. You can also keep your multiplier ticking in the right direction by using 'skull shots' - little white signs dotted through the levels which give extra points.

There are other ways to score, too, like doing stunts - though I didn't find any in my play. That said, a cool addition is the 180 degree snap turn on Triangle, where if you get a kill immediately with it you get a 'Snap Shot' bonus. You also get 'Great Shot' and 'Crack Shot' bonuses for good shooting, and Multi Kills for well-timed barrel explosion hijinks.

Technically, it is excellent. The graphics are extremely solid and pretty, with the PS3 never missing a beat at 30fps. Perhaps a little jaggy, but very clear.

The level design is very impressive. Everything is clearly laid out in front of you and in about two runs I'd learned a level's rough layout. After a quick familiarisation session I had no trouble at all making my way around, with arrows on the ground helping in both modes. For a team who have never done a shooter before, they've made a damn good job with (at least) the prison level.

There are two 'events' and one character in the demo - ridiculous for such a large download, to be honest. The levels are set in a prison and it's clear they're like PGR's cities - large arenas around which 'tracks' are built, and this is most keenly felt in Time Attack mode, which puts you under an arcade racer-style time limit, extendable through killing enemies or shooting signs on the walls - but only on the correct lap. That's right, lap. You have to go round the course multiple times, with enemies etc. respawning as you go. The thing is, the enemy layouts stay the same from attempt to attempt, so it's possible again to memorise and rinse the level.

The other mode is Survival, which is basically a 'point to point' with no time limit - you just have to meet the target and survive, which is obviously more difficult than in the Time Attack mode. I died a few times in the hardest selectable difficulty (the very hardest, called 'Real', was unselectable even after this, annoyingly) due to ill-timed reloads.

I was interested in this since I first heard about it. Now I'm very excited to see the full product, and particularly look forward to playing the PC version. Hopefully there'll be a demo for that soon.

Why is it?

I assume he means it's amusing for someone to be asking when a 360 demo is due, when it's usually PS3 owners left waiting.
