26 weeks isn't that bad for a custom builder. If you want a Pegoretti, Feather or Donhou you'll be waiting at least 12 months.

Apparently the wait list for a Richard Sachs bike is in the region of 10 years. It's debatable whether you'll get one before he retires.

To be honest, I just picked names I like. I only recognise a handful, and they were mostly too expensive to select, so I mostly went with the ones with silly names (hence Lars Boom :D)
He's on twitter under @Lars_Boom I think. Tweets a picture of his desert every day. :-)

Looks like Nacer Bouhanni is going to drop out. He's lagging behind the Peloton and even if he finishes he'll probably miss the cut. If the Peleton relents he may make it back on, but he's clearly suffering.

That is, if they apply the same rules to him as to Ted King.

    EDIT: He's just climbed off.

Without wanting to come across all la-di-da, a cobbler is most accurately a shoe repairer. It ain't no heel bar job what I do ;)

Blimey, it's quite embarrassing how well I'm doing in the velogames thingy. Still, quite exciting between my an Emilko. Just... sorry guys!

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

I'm half sorry I also invited in Emil now (as I was afraid it'd be a sparsely populated league at first). Would've been double hilarious if it was just you at the top with a massive margin on everyone else.

My double-sprinter gambit paid off yesterday. In hindsight Sagan might've been a better inclusion, as I think he's got to be the highest scoring rider so far.

    However, when the mountains come...

Jens Voigt is out front on an inevitably doomed breakaway. Go Jens! \o/

I was so close to picking Jensie, I love that guy. In the end I had to go with Tommy V and represent me some Colnago, already had Hansen down as my breakaway interest anyway.

Quick question chaps. My girlfriend has recently started biking (but but seriously). She bought an Argos 100 bike, which is so heavy I can barely lift it.

The bike I currently have is 17inch frame. I'm 5 foot 9, and my girlfriend is 5 5. If I lower the seat will she be able to ride it, or is there anything else to consider?

Is it a mountain bike Andy?

She might be able to use it if the standover is OK i.e. she can clear the top tube when standing, the other thing is the reach - it might be a bit long for her to sit comfortably. MTBs are generally more forgiving than road bikes when it comes to sizing.

Can't hurt to try, women tend to have longer legs for a given height than men which might reduce the difference in fit between the two of you. Once you've got the saddle height set you just need to get the bars in a comfortable place, and they'll probably be quite high and comfortable on that frame size for her.

Riding London-Cambridge with the missus on Sunday. Rapha have organised this Womens100 thing, so me & her are doing a really chilled run as part of that.

Last weekend was pretty good, did 170 miles, 100 of which was a Sat group ride where Dan Craven turned up. He's a pro who raced for Namibia in the Olympics. Super nice guy. We averaged almost 20mph for the 100, which is pretty much the fastest I've been on the bike over anything like that distance.

    How about you?

First ride out on my bike and the chain snaps as I was coasting down a hill and getting back onto the ideals quickly for the going up the other side. Luckily wasn't too far out and my friend rode home and swung back with his car to pick me up. Can't say I've ever snapped a chain before.

That's a bit shit Bill, can't say that's ever happened to me either.

Think I'll be tagging along to the London Phoenix Sunday training ride, nice early start to get to East Finchley for 7am.

Yeah, it's a mountain bike. It means that if she can use mine, I'll be justified in buying a new shiny one...

You've just got to go for it Andy. Don't forget to research the shiny.

My weekend is blighted by a Sunday shift, but I have reassembled this for the summer nights.

In regards the TdF dream team, Voeckler is my only rider yet to score, what a Fucker!
  • Deleted user 5 July 2013 21:53:56
Aye, Pinot for me is the only one to score, not sure where he came in today, but swear i heard his name mentioned of the back in the second group. hope its not the case.

Edit: not the case, his only 47 adrift.

My Garmin is claiming a rather improbable 3567 calories burned this morning. I think that earns me a Dominos for lunch then.
