    - some of those are total shit-holes.

    Sub-sahara is nice though.
You have a strange definition of shit-holes, in that case ;)

Looked like a Taxi Rank tbh. Organized chaos and it was probably avoidable, but you know, good for telly init.

I wonder if they extended it for comedy effect but I can well believe that being a true traffic jam. Was in India and got caught in one similar while in a tuk tuk. Everyone jumps into any tiny space available and you end up with an interlocked tessellation that just doesn't go anywhere fast.

I can say that was almost certainly real. I do a lot of work in Africa, and that was pretty much the same as any major capital city in sub-Saharan Africa. Kampala is particularly notorious. Itís also unlikely you could avoid it completely, as there just arenít enough roads to contain the volume of traffic in cities. Iíve heard from locals that sitting in traffic for four, five or six hours is pretty much every day for them. Itís not like they have any other option; the buses are not safe and use the same roads anyway.

Might have been totally scripted, but I had to laugh when they cut each other's cars up for parts.
Not as much as when Clarkson took his own rear window out, though.

    I LOL'ed!

It was a great if slightly daft fun viewing ... as close to an unscripted episode as it gets.

I'd like to know if their had really found the source of the Nile though.

Its one of the known possible candidates.

Wikipedia has a whole section on the source. Its worth a read.

Loved the rafting bit. That was mad.

They all looked a wee bit rough by the end, so it seemed a bit authentic.

I loved jeremy subtly measuring hammonds window to see if it fit his car then later on then proceeding to boast about how he found a window that fitted in the middle of nowhere.

Didn't rate it as much as the first part, but it was still quite enjoyable.

They didn't find any briefcases containing diamonds among those rocks. Shame.

Getting very tired this. Probably the worst adventure of them all.

    Just stop. Now. Please.

I quite liked it. They didn't do a staged "oh no my car fell into the water".

It's not the source of the Nile though: the Atlantic flows into the Med, not the other way around.

    Weakest series so far!

Putting the backup car in the water? Yeah, but that was a throwaway joke and didn't have them mugging to the camera and having terrible pantomime sub-some-mothers-do-ave-em mishaps.

I don't think it's the weakest series so far, I've enjoyed this one more than the last two or three.

Well I enjoyed it. Probably one of the best specials they've done imo, especially the first part.

Clarkson says there'll be a new series in the summer, I'll definitely be tuning in.

I laughed lots, and thought it was great. Maybe you should watch a different TV show? ;-)

Cheer up you miserable fuckers. It's entertainment :-)

Yes, some of it was staged but I don't think they staged how the cars behaved in those conditions. I thought it was very funny.

Going back a couple of episodes to the one with the OAP car. I thought it would be rather offensive but I was quite surprised that I didn't find it that way. They made a lot of good points too. That also had me in stitches. Especially Clarkson's anti-going the wrong way measures. I was crying laughing and I don't think Hammond knew it was coming.

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

@ScoutTech I did some research for some Nigerian brands and there were references of daily 3 hour traffic jam commutes.

Not as great as the first part, but still good. The scripted bits such as nicking each others bits of cars and the car "falling" into the water were bad, but were quickly over with so it didn't bother me as much as usual.

I don't think the log going through the window was planned. Hammond and May's slow realisation to what happened was hilarious.

Hammond isn't a very good actor, and when he realises it's smashed he genuinely loses it for a sec. So he definitely didn't know it was going to happen. Jeremy and the Producers probably did though.

    Oh ... so soon?

I did not expect them back until late summer, early autumn!

    : )

Their last 'Christmas' special that was shown in February or March was brilliant. More of the same please.

I just saw the trailer for the new series. I'm sure people can't wait to get back to bitching about how it's not as good as it was. Personally, I'm looking forwards to it, Sunday nights have been shit since the last series finished \o/
