    Nay!!!!

Tried it the other week, somehow stupidly asuming that with so many people seeming to like the stuff, it wouldn't actually taste like raw fish...........It does!

Tuna Sashimi, in all it's various forms, is the greatest food on earth.

Nay :( I've tried to eat it on various occasions and from good sources. It's not even the fish thing, it's the rice! It's just too thick and gummy for my palate. Which is a shame because my girlfriend quite likes it and keeps trying to get me to eat it.

Generally speaking most black people like to eat rice.

Try Sashimi then - not only is it not "bundled" with rice, it's also easier to handle because of this as you don't have the whole mouth completely full everytime.

I like californian style sushi. A lot of the Japanese stuff is just disgusting.

As is japanese food, to be honest. The last time I went, we went with a vegetarian, which was hilarious as all the vegetarian options still came with fish.

Depends how it is served obviously
    NSFW.

Love the stuff. It's not too hard to make either, impresses birds no end.

    Nay!!!

Even before I was vegetarian I never ate fish because it was rather vile, so I dread to imagine what a raw fish would taste like.

Delicate and sublime. Does that answer the question?

I blame growing up on fish and chips! ;)

As far as raw fish goes I prefer things like carpaccio and tartare to sushi.

    Nay.

I've had some fantastic meals at Japanese restaurants, but the Sushi bit was always awful.

Love it, and we get such great fish here that my wife makes it on a regular basis.

I detest Yo Sushi though, their stuff always tastes like it's just turning.

It really is delicate. In older days they used to sell it under names such as cutlet fish and precut into portions, because it's such an ugly fish. However nowadays people are aware it's a delicacy, so you'll usually find whole specimens at good fishmongers.

    Same as the angler fish.

I'm thinking of starting to mke sushi myself, coz i buy the packet ones from supermarket to take for my lunchs but it must be better making it yourself.

ive been looking at some 'how to make books' but am worried where i would get ingredients from, i live in blackburn in lancashire so i am not going to find stuff around here!, where is the best place for me buy the ingredients online:-)

Sushi? A big meh from me.

I don't dislike it, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat it either.

Dunno, I'm torn. I tried a variety of sashimi in a little japanese restaurant a few years ago, some of it was quite nice. The mackerel was good, as was the salmon, and the octopus was surprisingly very tasty, but the rest of it was pretty hideous to be honest. I like sushi, and I absolutely love wasabi, but with the sashimi I found I was drowning it in wasabi just so it was palettable...

Sushi is a rip off. They con you with the rice. Sashimi is the only way forward.
