I will miss knowing that I could just give notice on a rented place, ditch my belongings around friends and family and wander off if I fancied it, but I think I've done enough of that and it's time to settle. Having said that, the surveyor is currently walking around the house and making teeth-sucking mechanic noises about things like pointing. So, I'm definitely not feeling quite so happy about becoming a home-owner right now. The money pit is yawning.Fire up the Cobra!

Registered 6 years agoToday I had to send the following e.mail to all our staff, at all our depots. It made me very happy. Especially as my knob head manager isn't in today so he will be the last to find out, and it will only be via e.mail. HAHA, sucker...
'Hello folks, as of Thursday I shall be returning to the workshop permanantly to concentrate on the hire fleet maintanence, in house repairs and PDI's so will not be available for general spares, hire or outsourced repair enquiries.

Last week MS sent out an Xbox Account security email to everyone. They sent me two, one to my new Gamertag, and one to my old one (Which was a shock). That gave me the email address that was associated with my old gamertag, I'd managed to associate two tags with one email address some how, but I couldn't log into the first one as it hadn't got a unique Live account tied to it due to MS expiring the hotmail account that it was tied to.
I hadn't realised that I'd used an existing address with the account, as well as the hotmail address. So I was able to give them the account email address and some other security info about the account, and they escalated it to the USA where they made me open a new live account and they then tied the tag to that account.
Recovered to Xbox and job done
All I can suggest is phoning during a time when you get the Irish call centre, as they are a damn sight more helpful and understanding than the American or Indian call centres. -

Registered 5 years agoYesterday had my first ever general anaesthetic. Paid £700 to have my balls chopped to pieces to see if the doc could find any sperm inside them as all the usual tests came up negative and I was shooting blanks.
They said I need 3 days bed rest following the surgery, but instead 15 hours later I am sitting at my desk, my head spinning and I can't focus on the screen. My balls are bleeding slightly and the insane amount of painkillers I have taken are barely making a dent and I am trying not to cry every time I move.
However I have just had a call from the clinic, they found motile semen in the samples and as such my wife and I can go ahead with IVF treatment. So after 3 years of heartache with every day losing faith that we could ever have kids the last hail mary "lets just dig straight into them on a 20 % chance there is something there" we have had some luck.
So apart from the pain, nausea, dizziness, poor vision and general feeling shit i am insanely happy. Just need to try to find £3000 to pay for the first IVF round now. Which after all the other stuff we have been through will be childs play. -
